If you are a beginner, do not write directly on the chapter stone. You can write on the stone by turning it over.
You can write the manuscript according to your own situation. If you are good at calligraphy, you can write according to the seal surface. To determine the size, write directly on the printing surface or on the copy paper. If your calligraphy is not good, you can put the copy paper directly on the words to be traced and trace them.
Take the word "print" as an example. When tracing, use a pencil to trace along the outline of the printed word. Note: small details must not be missed. Then, apply ink according to the outline of the word "Yin", being careful not to exceed the outline. Apply the word "print" in order. Then put the words on the printed manuscript on the stone surface. There are two ways to apply the stone:
1. Watermark method
First prepare a piece of transparent copy paper, then cover the copy paper on the stone surface of the seal stone, use your palm to make marks on the paper along the edge of the seal stone, and then use thick ink within the indentation range. Write down the manuscript to be engraved, and then dry the manuscript; then turn over the dried manuscript (the traced word "print") to cover the printing surface, and use a brush dipped in some water to apply it on the copy paper , then use clean rice paper or toilet paper to absorb the excess water; then, cover the printed manuscript with a piece of rice paper, use your fingernails to gently and evenly scrape the rough edges of the paper several times, and then remove the rice paper and copy paper. Just take it off.
In this way, the words are printed on the stone surface. After rubbing, if there are any unclear areas, use a brush to evenly trace them. When I first learned seal cutting, I basically used watermark method to write the manuscript.
2. Reverse writing method
First write the manuscript on a copy paper with good transparency, then turn the copy paper over, press it with a seal stone, put a mirror on it, and follow the instructions For the reverse-written manuscript, copy it with a brush on the seal stone, trying to be close to the original manuscript. Then compare the manuscript in front of the mirror and make appropriate modifications to the deficiencies.
