Hard-pen calligraphy does not necessarily have to be a pen. You need to figure out which pen is easy to use. There are many types and models of fountain pens
According to the composition of the pen tip, it can be divided into two types: gold pens and iridium gold pens.
⑴Gold pen
The pen tip is made of gold alloy. The pen tip is soft, has good elasticity and feels comfortable in the hand. However, the price of gold pens is relatively expensive, and the tip is soft and difficult to master, so it is not suitable for beginners to use. Gold is a corrosion-resistant metal, and people thought of using it to make pen tips. However, pure gold is too soft to be used directly to make pen tips. The gold pens we usually talk about have alloy tips. The tip of a better gold pen is marked with 14K, which means it contains 58% gold. There are also silver and copper pens: those marked with 12K, which means it contains 50% gold. In this way, flexibility is improved.
⑵Iridium gold pen
The pen tip does not contain gold, and some pen tips are gold-plated. The pen tip is hard, high-quality and low-priced. It is a suitable tool for beginners to learn to write. Although the prices are very different, the iridium grains in the pen tips are mostly iridium alloy. The reason why the smoothness is so different is because of the different grinding methods and fineness. So in a sense, gold pens and iridium pens are the same. However, the materials and feel are different, which leads to the price gap.
The ink contains a small amount of sulfuric acid, but this corrosive sulfuric acid will pose a serious threat to the pen. If the pen tip is made of ordinary steel, it cannot withstand the corrosion of sulfuric acid and will not last long. What metal can resist corrosion? Gold, iridium and stainless steel. The small silver-white round particle on the tip of the gold pen is called an iridium particle. It is an alloy composed mainly of iridium and other rare metals that is particularly wear-resistant. Because when writing, you rely entirely on it to scratch the paper, and it often has to "travel thousands of miles" in its life.
How to choose a fountain pen
Parameters
According to the requirements of our national standards, the parameters of fountain pens mainly include the following aspects, so when we choose a fountain pen You can refer to several aspects;
1. Slipness of the pen tip;
2. Water leakage resistance;
3. Continuous writing time (fill ink at one time) ;
4. Intermittent writing time;
5. Pen clip holding force;
6. Corrosion resistance;
7. Writing width;
8. Water absorption;
9. Mechanical properties of parts;
10. Pen cover tension;
11. Appearance.
Selection Tips
When we choose a pen, some parameters cannot be seen. But we can still use some techniques to tell the quality of pens.
A. The pen tip is so smooth that you can pull out the pen cover and move the pen tip on the white paper. Generally, the difficulty of polishing the pen tip is the side. We did an experiment and used the left side of the pen at 30 degrees and the right side at 30 degrees to move on the white paper. If it's still smooth, it means the nib's glide is guaranteed. Use normal writing posture to draw the number "8" on the paper. If it is smooth, the pen is of good quality.
B. The main reason for water leakage is the poor sealing of the pen cartridge. We can plug the nib (don't force it) and squeeze the pen cartridge. If it feels difficult to squeeze, it means the leak resistance is very good. Of course, water leakage resistance is a comprehensive parameter.
C. Continuous writing time and intermittent writing time are the soul of a pen. If you buy a pen that cannot guarantee continuous and intermittent writing, it is equivalent to a waste product. Depending on the width of the writing, the writing time will be different. But generally the necessary time is at least 30 minutes. Like Zekai's CAMALI pen, the writing time for pens below 0.35MM is generally 2 hours.
D. Some mechanical properties, such as the clamping force of the pen clip, the mechanical properties of the parts, and the tension of the pen cover, are all of concern to users. Mechanical properties generally do not require any equipment and can be tested by hand. Users can pay attention to these details when choosing. Especially some expensive gift pens.
E. For ordinary users, they are more concerned about the appearance of the pen. It's cool and cool. It's the initial thought of most people when choosing a fountain pen. Like the gift pens launched by Zekai, there are more than a thousand combinations of models and colors to choose from. Parker basically designs three or four emerging styles a month. It seems that all major pen manufacturers are making a big fuss about appearance.
From the user's perspective, choosing a pen is actually a cleansing of art. Because today's pen manufacturers are undoubtedly artists and regard pens as artistic creations. It is a kind of taste and luxury. This makes sense.
Hard-pen calligraphy is a brilliant flower in the garden of calligraphy art. Its writing tools include pens, ballpoint pens, dip pens, pencils, plastic tip pens, bamboo pens, wooden pens, stylus pens, etc., using ink as the main carrier to express Chinese character writing skills. It has the characteristics of easy carrying, fast writing, and wide use value. The difference between it and the brush is that the thick stipples of the soft brush are transformed into fine stipples, and the flesh and sinews are removed to preserve the bones.
