How to carve seals

Double knife method: the knife is applied to both sides of the seal pen, and the solid line of the seal pen is carved with two or more knives. Zhu is an outline carved along the two sides of the stroke, and the base outside the stroke is scraped off by cutting and stamping, so that the printed stroke protrudes on the printing surface. The knife for carving ink requires smooth air permeability and even lines. Zhu Wen's successful silhouette is loach back, and he uses a pen in the calligraphy center to produce a rich and full artistic effect that penetrates the paper back.

Carving a white seal with double knives is to cut off the solid line of the stroke along the inside of the printed stroke, leaving a flat printing surface and concave stroke lines. White carving requires uniform and neat force, and the printed outline is clear and smooth. Each stroke of the double knife method needs to be engraved twice or more times with a knife. The operation mode is to fix the cutter position and the direction of conveying the cutter, rotate the Yin Shi, and basically apply the cutter to the right side of the line. Finally, trim off the dovetail and stubble left at the beginning and end of the line with a knife.

Single-knife method: Finger printing strokes are completed with single-line knife marks, which are used to carve fine white characters. Use a knife at the actual position of the sealing stroke. Single-knife method can not only carve one knife at a time, but also carve with heavy knives. However, all knives should move in the same direction, and multiple knife marks cannot be displayed. Single-knife carving requires that the knife be hidden and healthy, which constitutes a natural unadorned effect.
