The time when the culture and art of the town really came alive was after the Third Plenary Session. Due to the hunger and thirst of the Cultural Revolution for ten years, the people of Matawei spontaneously organized a number of cultural and sports activities during the Spring Festival to collect couplets, paintings and poems. Later, this activity expanded to the whole town. Every major festival, sponsored by the town government, held a variety of cultural and sports activities. During the period of 1982, nearly a thousand pieces of couplets, calligraphy, poems and art works were collected, and the contributors were all over the county. There are contributions from Shuidong, Diancheng, Shuzai, Bohe, Xia Dong, Lintou, Yang Jiao, Guanzhu, Shalang and Kongdong in Yangxi County. Li Chonghua of Bohe alone contributed 160 articles (compared with). These activities inherit and carry forward the traditional and modern culture and art, and greatly enrich the cultural life in rural areas.
From 65438 to 0986, several social youths headed by Wu Kuchu organized a literary group "Longtan Literature Society", founded a social magazine "Longtan" (mimeographed), and published some short poems, essays, novels and other works by young amateur authors. Longtan has published more than 20 issues and stopped publishing.
The ballads of Shanghai dialect, which spread inside and outside the town, have strong local color and certain artistry, and are of great value to the study of the customs and customs in the coastal areas of Dianbai County. A glimpse of ballads in the electric white side
Collection of Folk Literature edited by Anren Wang. 1927, printed and published by Diancheng Jinchang Publishing House. The book has been compiled into some folk songs such as Diancheng, Mata, Shuzai and Jueshan, which are circulated in Dianbai County. The original is completely lost. 1987, Dianbai County Folk Literature Integration Office collected three volumes from Mata, Shuzai and Chashan, and reprinted them. Reprinted 186 pages, divided into eight categories, including nearly 1000 folk songs. These ballads have a strong local flavor and are simple and humorous. For example:
Red clouds fly over white clouds, and there is no water to let Tian Chun spend the spring;
There are no cows to drive them away and they are popular, and no women weave linen and wear skirts.
Another example is:
The bachelor sings the bachelor song, and the goose carries the duck over the ridge.
The mouse carried the cat over the roof, and the clam swallowed the snake in one jump.
Set fire to the slope to catch Monopterus albus, and catch water snakes with bamboo tails in cages.
However, many dialect words in the works are self-created and far-fetched. Although detailed annotations are made, it is still very confusing.
