Look at Su Shi

In 1054 AD, an inconspicuous wedding was held in remote Sichuan. The man's name is Su Shi, a student at Zhongyan Academy in Qingshen County. The bride is Wang Fu, the daughter of his teacher Wang Fang, who has just turned fifteen this year. According to Lin Yutang, all marriages are like gambling and sailing in the vast sea. Su Shi and Wang Fu are no exception. The happiness of marriage is unpredictable. But Su Shi couldn't say, no, I don't understand her. If so, his father Su Laoquan would yell: It's your grandma's! Then slapped him across the face. Everything is determined by fate, and all Su Shi can do is wait. He is like a prince in mythology, longing for love to come to him from the sky. The bride Wang Fuze just hopes to be a woman of the Su family from now on. This has been the wish of almost all Chinese women for a long time. Wang Fu also longs for love, but she longs even more for being a woman in peace. She is the virtuous daughter of a scholar, so she naturally understands that the important responsibility given to her by the society is to care for her husband and raise her children, not to have a romantic relationship. She knew that Su Shi should be grateful and satisfied, but she should not call Su Shi romantic. Wang Fu packaged her marriage in a very standard way, and she herself was ready to become a rationalist. However, the Su Shi she married was a natural optimist, a wanderer on a moonlit night, and a gourmet who fed on love. So a popular wife and an outstanding husband are discordantly matched in the dark forest of marriage. The huge contrast destined this ordinary marriage to be extraordinary.

In Wang Fu's view, Su Shi is a passionate wild horse who needs her taming. Before Su Shi, who liked to be unrestrained, left his hometown, he liked to stay at Wang Fang's home by the Minjiang River. There are ancient temples and clear streams there, but most of them are traps set by Wang Fu. Wang Fu often fried melon seeds and fried broad beans for Su Shi to eat, sat chatting with Su Shi outside the hut, and even accompanied him to have a picnic by the Seocho Bridge not far away. Wang Fu arranged a lifestyle that Su Shi liked, which gave the newly married Su Shi a misleading message. Su Shi foolishly drank the wine, but he didn't know that the secret of Wang Fu's game was the word "shaan". As long as he was obedient and conscientious When studying, she is willing to be a cook and playmate. This is all the romance Su Shi can have. However, the shrewd Wang Fu also made an oversight. She did not realize that the little girl Wang Runzhi, known as the Twenty-seventh Mother, was staring at Su Shi with a pair of big bright eyes. Later, she became a part of Su Shi's life. She could not give Su Shi romance, but she made him Su Shi went to find romance. Wang Furuo knows something underground, I don’t know what to think.

Wang Fu also has to play the role of Hongxiu Tianxiang. Her father is a rural tribute scholar, so she probably has some family influence. Su Shi thought that what Wang Fu gave him was the romance of love. Su Shi is eager to read Wang Fuye as a book. What a beautiful night in the Song Dynasty it would be. It's a pity that Su Shi was wrong again. Wang Fu didn't sleep, staying up night after night with Su Shi. Wang Fu stayed with him night after night. Su Shi just liked reading, but why did Wang Fu bother? There is a story widely circulated now: Once Su Shi made a mistake in his reading due to negligence, Wang Fu pointed it out with a smile. Su Shi asked in surprise: You can still read... Wang Fu's reading skills are far inferior to Su Shi's, so it is very difficult to express his opinions. All she could do was concentrate, even more attentively than Su Shi, to find this rare intellectual mistake that Su Shi had made. Su Shi was so surprised that he couldn't even think about it. Instead, he was very moved. He is lucky enough to have a wonderful wife who can move him. At the same time, he is the most unfortunate. He is one of the few people who can separate emotion and love. Like all elegant affairs in the study, Wang Fu's false perfection and Su Shi's noble imperfection were twisted together to give birth to a Jinshi of the Song Dynasty. Wang Fu cared about this Jinshi very much.

Su Shi soon took over as the judge of Fengxiang Mansion, and Wang Fu followed her husband there. By this time they already had a child, Su Mai, who later accompanied Su Shi on his tour of Shizhong Mountain. Su Shi never felt good about being an official. He began to make a lot of friends. He was a person who truly lived for his friends. Friends often came to his home. Su Shi believed that there were no bad people in the world, so he treated them all warmly. Everyone was talking all over the country, and Su Shi knew that Wang Fu was hiding behind the curtain and eavesdropping. Su Shi's back was really cold. If his friends knew about it, wouldn't they laugh out loud? One day Zhang Dun came and said many things that made Su Shi happy. As soon as Zhang Dun left, Wang Fu came out from behind the curtain and said, "This person today is unreliable and too enthusiastic. You must be careful, or it may be detrimental to you in the future." Later, Zhang Dun was indeed the most vigorous in persecuting Su Shi. Su Shi, who was open-minded, hated him to death and even became a ghost and refused to meet him. Wang Fu really has the extraordinary ability of women to judge good from bad intuitively, and her eavesdropping behind the curtain has indeed helped her husband a lot.

Su Shi also admitted that she was a good wife in "Epitaph of His Late Wife Wang". But I dare to assert that Su Shi would not like Wang Fu hanging behind the curtain to listen to the guests. If a wife can eavesdrop on her husband and his friends, what's the point of being an official husband? What fun is there in being your husband’s friend? Wang Fu pushed Su Shi to mature in his wishful thinking, but Su Shi had already begun to show the alternative style of a great poet and writer. This couple, who are always mismatched, are always at odds with each other. In May of this year, Wang Fu passed away. He was twenty-seven years old and left behind a six-year-old son. The suddenly broken family made Su Shi very sad, but if Wang Fu had not left and Wang Runzhi had not come, Su Shi would not have met Wang Chao Yun, who was as beautiful as a spring garden, with eyes as bright as the morning sun, and would not have had the wonderful thoughts on the song boat on the West Lake. Unable to enjoy the disasters in the future, unable to spread his beautiful wings, the entire cultural history is looking forward to Su Shi's flight. Wang Fu's death should be the fulfillment of history.

Su Xun was satisfied with Wang Fu as his daughter-in-law. He said to his son Su Shi: "Your wife followed you, but she couldn't enjoy your achievements. You should bury her next to her mother-in-law." "Su Xun probably wanted to find someone to accompany his late wife. The next year, Su Xun also died. Su Shi transported the two men back to their hometown for burial. Su Shi planted 30,000 pine trees on the hillside around the tomb, and also planted a trace of concern. In the ten years since then, Su Shi has held this cemetery and this pine forest in his heart. Indeed, Wang Fu needs concern. The cold and aloof Su Xun will not be her conversation partner. Her mother-in-law, Mrs. Cheng, must be busy with big things again. She was nothing but miserable. Su Shi met Wang Fu in his dreams many times and felt extremely uncomfortable when he woke up. Wang Fu, who once gave him a real life, actually brought such unforgettable romantic lovesickness after his death. Su Shi returned to the mentality he had before marriage. But Su Shi didn't know what to say to Wang Fu every time. His heart was confused and his head was confused. He couldn't talk nonsense or not say it. On the night of the 20th of the first lunar month in 1075 AD, he dreamed of Wang Fu again, and finally thought clearly about what he wanted to say. This is the poignant and beautiful "Jiangchengzi·Remembering a Dream":

Ten The years of life and death are so vast that they cannot be forgotten without thinking about them. Thousands of miles of lonely tomb, no place to talk about desolation. Even if we meet each other, we should not know each other, our faces are covered with dust and our temples are like frost. At night, I suddenly returned to my hometown with a deep dream. I was dressing up outside the small window. They looked at each other without words, only a thousand lines of tears. It is expected that the broken part of the intestines will be cut off every year, on a bright moonlit night, there will be short pines.

This is a strange eulogy, in which we do not see any past life events that should be mentioned. Su Shi only wanted Wang Fu, so he sat in front of Xiaoxuan window and dressed him up. An extremely simple wish, but it is a luxury that no era can grant. No one would have thought that this was what the world-famous Su Dajun had been thinking for the past ten years. It seems that Su Shi has not changed at all. He is still the same Su Shi who pursues romantic love. He is so persistent in his love. The only difference is that he is much braver than before, brave enough to say those embarrassing words of love in front of everyone in the world. The tearful Su Shi made this nation feel more tender and innocent. The clay of Wang Fu's tomb closed the story of an ordinary woman, but attracted the pure eyes of countless men. Wang Fu did not live for Su Shi, but died for Su Shi. After death, he completely belonged to Su Shi. For the first time, her beauty had the quality of flying through time and space. This kind of beauty removes the mediocrity and triviality of her life, and is a woman's pure love commitment to a man. To this day, we still see a figure stepping into the door covered by Su Shi's green bamboos, although this is just a comforting shape.

Su Shi still had something to say, and then wrote "Die Lian Hua·Spring Scenery". What he likes is a girl who swings back and forth on the swing and laughs all the time. Su Shi continues to surprise people. Maybe he has been oppressed to a point of madness, which is why he talks nonsense. In fact, Su Shi still had a sense of sadness. He asked himself, is there such a girl? Yes, he answered. Where is she? At the end of the world, he smiled helplessly. In the autumn of that year in Huizhou, he ordered Chaoyun to sing this poem. Chaoyun's clothes were filled with tears before his voice started singing. God bless Su Shi, he finally has a woman who just cries for his love. A few years later, Su Shi passed away, and his residual dream of dressing up remained forever under the bright moon and the sound of pine waves in Wang Fu's cemetery.
