This year's champion Hans Suh is the winner of the 20 18 German International Piano Award, the 20 16 Queen Elizabeth International Music Competition and the 20 16 Yinyishan International Music Competition. Hans Suh began to learn piano at the age of four, began to learn composition at the age of five, and held his first solo concert at the age of seven.

After studying at Manice Conservatory of Music, Hans Suh continued to study ancient history at Columbia University, and studied piano with Emanuel Ax and Matti Raekallio at Juilliard. After completing his master's degree in music, he is now studying with arie vardi at Hanover Conservatory of Music.

Deutsche Telekom Bonn Beethoven International Piano Competition was established in 2005 and held every two years. Now it is a member of the World Music Competition Union (WFIMC). Pavel Gililov, a famous pianist and educator, served as the chairman of the jury.
