1. Concentrate on learning ink as a meal
When Wang Xizhi was about five or six years old, he worshipped Mrs. Wei to learn calligraphy for his teacher. His calligraphy has made rapid progress. At the age of seven, he became famous in the local area by writing, which was very popular and praised by his predecessors.
when Wang Xizhi was 11 years old, he read "Bi Shuo", which only adults can understand. He wrote and practiced in the morning and in the dark every day according to the method described in "Pen Shuo", and he was simply fascinated. After a while, I looked at my own handwriting, and compared with what I wrote before, there were some changes.
One day, his teacher, Mrs. Wei, was taken aback and said, "The child must have seen the secret of calligraphy. I found that his handwriting has reached the level of an adult recently. If this continues, the child's achievements in calligraphy in the future will definitely drown my reputation."
Wang Xizhi was not complacent because of the teacher's praise. He worked harder and harder, and even forgot to eat or sleep.
Once at lunch, extremely bookish brought his favorite garlic paste and steamed buns, and urged him to eat them quickly several times. He still didn't even look up, as if he didn't hear, and he was absorbed in reading posts and writing. The meal was cold, so extremely helpful had no choice but to ask Wang Xizhi's mother to persuade him to eat. Mother came to the study, only to find Xihe's hand holding a steamed bun stained with ink and sending it to her mouth, making her mouth black.
When eating steamed buns, Xizhi was still looking at the word and thinking about how to write it in his mind. As a result, he mistakenly ate the ink as garlic. Mother couldn't help laughing when she saw this scene.
Wang Xizhi still doesn't understand what's going on! Hearing his mother's laughter, he also said, "The garlic paste on this day is really fragrant!" Wang Xizhi persisted for decades, studied hard, kept on posting, and practiced very solid kung fu, which laid the foundation and paved the way for his future development.
2. Zhong You was born at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. He was so persistent and enthusiastic about calligraphy learning that he almost reached the point of madness. It is said that he used to study in Baodu Mountain. In order to practice calligraphy well, he wrote all the stones and trees in the mountain in black. On one occasion, he talked with Cao Cao, Wei Dan and others about calligraphy pens. Because of his strong interest, he kept drawing pictures before going to bed and even cut several holes in the quilt.
Wei Dan was also a calligrapher at that time. It is said that he had the calligraphy theory of Cai Yong, a great calligrapher in the Eastern Han Dynasty, so his calligraphy level was very high. At that time, everyone admired his calligraphy and thought it was the first calligrapher of his time.
Zhong You wanted to borrow this "pen theory" from Wei Dan, but Wei Dan refused. Zhong You was so angry that he beat his chest and vomited blood. Fortunately, Cao Cao saved his life with five elixirs. When Wei Dan died, Zhong You sent someone to dig out the book from the grave, studied it repeatedly, and finally understood the secret of using a pen.
3. Zheng Banqiao studied calligraphy
Zheng Banqiao, one of the "Eight Eccentrics" in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty, loved calligraphy since childhood. He copied all kinds of calligraphy styles of famous ancient calligraphers, and after some hard practice, he finally wrote almost exactly the same as his predecessors, which made him confused. But people don't appreciate his handwriting very much, and he is in a hurry. He studies harder and practices harder than before.
One summer night, he and his wife were sitting outside enjoying the cool air. He wrote on his lap with his finger, wrote it and wrote it on his wife. His wife hit his hand angrily and said, "You have your body (body) and I have my body. Why don't you write your own body and someone else's body?"
When sleeping at night, Zheng Banqiao thought that everyone has his own body, and writing has his own font, which is different! Why do I always learn other people's fonts, instead of going my own way and writing my own style? Even if I learn like others, it's other people's fonts and there is no innovation.
What's the point if he doesn't have his own style? From then on, he learned from the strengths of various schools, mixed official script with seal script, grass, lines and model letters, and wrote by painting. Finally, he formed a "six-and-a-half-part book" which was admired by the refined and popular people, that is, "littering the streets", and became a famous painter and calligrapher with a high reputation in the Qing Dynasty.
4. Emperor Taizong practiced calligraphy
Emperor Taizong Li Shimin was an emperor of feudal society in China. He often devotes himself to practicing calligraphy in his spare time when dealing with political affairs. At that time, Yu Shinan, known as one of the four great calligraphers in the early Tang Dynasty, worked in the palace. Because he is proficient in ancient and modern times, and his calligraphy is like a pen, Emperor Taizong has always respected him and often copied and learned Yu Shinan's calligraphy.
In the process of practicing calligraphy, Emperor Taizong deeply felt that the word "Ge" in Yu Shinan's font was the most difficult to write, and it was not easy to write its spirit. On one occasion, he practiced "Yan" for fear that it would be disgraceful to write badly, so that ministers would not see its jokes. So he deliberately left the word "Ge" blank, and privately asked Yu Shinan to fill it.
In order to show that he had made progress in calligraphy, Emperor Taizong took a few works and asked Wei Zhi, the advice doctor, to look at them, and asked Wei Zhi, "Do you think my handwriting looks like that of Bachelor Yu Shinan?" Wei Zhi looked at it respectfully and carefully, and remained silent with a smile.
At this time, Emperor Taizong asked him anxiously, "Is it like it or not? Why don't you speak?" Wei Zhi said at once, "I dare not comment on your calligraphy." Emperor Taizong said, "It's okay for you to speak frankly. I forgive you for your innocence."
At this moment, Wei Zhengcai said, "As far as I can see, only the word" Ge "on the right half of the word" Yan "is the same as that written by Yu Xueshi, and the rest are very different." After listening to these words, Emperor Taizong sighed deeply and admired Wei Zhi's eyesight, thus realizing that learning calligraphy can't be false at all. If you want to succeed, you must work hard.
5. Cai Yong of Han Dynasty was not only a writer, but also a famous calligrapher. The "flying white book" is his original creation. What is a "flying white book"? You will know after listening to this story.
Cai Yong is not a person who reads and writes behind closed doors. He often travels in order to capture inspiration and enrich his experience. On this day, he sent his written articles to Hongdumen, the royal library. People there are so arrogant that anyone who comes has to wait outside the door for a while. While Cai Yong was waiting for the interview, several craftsmen were painting the wall with brooms dipped in this limewater. He just stood by and looked at it.
at first, he just wanted to kill time. But looking at it, he can see some "doorways". I saw the craftsman go down with a broom, and a white mark appeared on the wall. Because the broom seedlings are relatively thin, they can't be dipped in much lime water, and the wall is not very smooth, so after a broom goes down, there are still some places in the white road where the wall is exposed.
Cai Yong's eyes lit up. He thought that in the past, when writing with a pen dipped in ink, the strokes were all black. Wouldn't it be more vivid and natural to show some silk or paper in the black pen like a craftsman painting a wall? Thought of here, he suddenly fell into a mood. Hand in your article and run home at once.
when Cai Yong came home, he forgot to have a rest, and prepared his pen and ink. Thinking about the scene when the craftsman painted the wall, he started to write. Who knows that it is easy to think of, but difficult to do. At first, the paper was not exposed, or the exposed part was too stiff.
he is not discouraged at all, and tries again and again. Finally, he mastered the sense of proportion in terms of how much ink he dipped in, how hard he applied, and the speed of writing, and wrote a faint white brush stroke in black, which made the words become elegant and flying, with a unique flavor.
Cai Yong's original writing style was quickly popularized and became a "flying white book". Until today, it has been used by calligraphers.
