Gorgeous algae decoration - Taikang Poetry Style
Lu Ji and Pan Yue are the representatives of the Western Jin Dynasty poetry circle. The so-called Taikang Poetry Style refers to the Western Jin Dynasty poetry style represented by Lu and Pan. Poets in the Western Jin Dynasty were mostly conceited about their talent, and they worked hard to express their talents through literary thought. The "complicated" characteristics of Taikang's poetic style are as follows: the language is gorgeous and decorative; the descriptions tend to be complicated; and the sentence patterns tend to be parallel and even. Lu and Pan developed Cao Zhi's "luxurious diction" and contributed to the development of Chinese poetry. They also promoted the development of landscape poetry in the Southern Dynasties and the maturity of rhythm and antithesis techniques. Lu Ji, whose courtesy name was Shiheng, was accomplished in literature and calligraphy and was known as the "hero of Taikang". Most of the poems handed down are Yuefu poems and pseudo-ancient poems. His representative works include "The Conduct of a Gentleman", "The Xie Xing of Chang'an", "Going to Luo Daozhong", etc. Pan Yue, whose courtesy name is Anren, is also called Pan An. The three "Mourning Poems" are his representative works. Because of their passion for fame, both of them were killed in the "Eight Kings Rebellion" where the ruling class fought for power.
