Chu Suiliang, courtesy name Dengshan, was born in Qiantang, Hangzhou, and his ancestral home was Yangzhai. He was a politician and calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty. He was also known as the "Four Great Masters of the Early Tang Dynasty" together with Ouyang Xun, Yu Shinan and Xue Ji. His handed down works include "Master Meng's Monument", "Yanta Sacred Preface", etc. Chu Suiliang was erudite and proficient in literature and history. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, he followed Xue Ju and became Tongshisheren. After returning to the Tang Dynasty, he served as an admonishing official and Zhongshu Ling and took charge of the political power. In the 23rd year of Zhenguan, he and Changsun Wuji received Taizong's imperial edict to assist in government. They were promoted to Minister Youpushe and granted the title of Duke of Henan. Later he became the governor of Tongzhou.
