Whose font is Ou Ti?

European style is the font of Ou Yangxun.

Ou Ti, the ancestor, was born in the first year of Chen Yongding in the Southern Dynasties (557) and died in the fifteenth year of Zhenguan in Emperor Taizong (64 1). He was born in Linxiang (now Hunan) in Tanzhou. Known for regular script and running script. As the largest official calligrapher in the history of calligraphy, his handwriting is called "European style", which is as famous as Yan (Zhenqing), Liu (Gongquan) and Zhao ().

European style is a regular script font created by Ou Yangxun, a great calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty. It is characterized by the combination of harmony, strong stippling and cohesive brushwork. It is steep and rigorous. Keep the side stable, compact and sparse.

Major achievements:

In the fifth year of Emperor Gaozu's reign (AD 622), Ou Yangxun presided over the compilation of Wen Wei Po. I have been writing for seven years, seeking a preface. Book 100 volume, divided into 48 parts. This book quoted 1400 kinds of ancient books, most of which were later lost. Lai's Selected Works preserved many important contents of various books.

Ou Yangxun is not only a great calligrapher, but also a calligraphy theorist. In his long-term calligraphy practice, he summed up eight methods of practicing and learning Chinese characters. Ou Yangxun's "Teaching Pen", "On the Use of Pen", "Eight Methods" and "Thirty-six Methods" are all his own experiences in learning calligraphy, which specifically summarize the formal skills and aesthetic requirements of calligraphy, such as the use of pen, structure and composition, and are valuable legacies of calligraphy theory, China.
