Cao Cao, whose real name is Meng De, was born and died in 155 -220. Cao Cao was the prime minister at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the son of Qiu Cao Song and the founder of Cao Wei regime. He was an outstanding politician, strategist and writer in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. Cao Cao skillfully wrote poems, which opened and prospered Jian 'an literature, and was known as a Jian 'an figure in history. The representative writers of Jian 'an literature are mainly Cao Shi and his son: Cao Cao, Cao Pi and Cao Zhi.
Cao Cao likes to express his political ambitions and reflect the sufferings of people's livelihood with poems. He is a representative figure in the literature of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and is praised by Lu Xun as "the founder of reforming articles". He was good at calligraphy and was praised as "a must" by Zhang Huaiguan in Tang Dynasty.
