Qian Jibo - Qian Zhongshu's father
Qian Jibo, also known as Ziquan, also known as Qianlu, was born in Wuxi. Born on the second day of February in the thirteenth year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1887), he was twinned with his younger brother Jihou. At the age of 5, he was taught by his eldest brother Zilan. At the age of 9, he finished reading "Four Books", "Five Classics" and "Gu Wen Yi". When he was 10 years old, his uncle Zhongmei taught him "Historical Records" and selected works of the Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties, and taught him how to write strategies. At the age of 13, he read "Zizhi Tongjian" and "Xu Zizhi Tongjian". He circled the two masterpieces 7 times and studied "Miscellaneous Notes on Reading History Fangyu".
At the age of 16, he wrote "The General Trend of China's Public Opinion" and published it in "Xinmin Congbao"; he wrote an article "Shuowen" and published it in "Journal of Chinese Culture"?
Yang Jiang Her father, Yang Yinhang, studied in Japan and the United States. In 1910, he received a master's degree in law from the University of Pennsylvania. From 1915 to 1919, he successively served as the director of the Higher Trial Department of the Capital, the Higher Prosecutor General of the Capital, and the counselor of the Ministry of Justice.
In Qian Mu's memory, he had read Yang Yinhang's book "Mingxue" (Logic) and was influenced by it. Yang Jiang had an aunt named Yang Yinyu, who was the president of Beijing Women's Normal University. We know her from Mr. Lu Xun's "In Memory of Liu Hezhenjun". Yang Yinyu was ridiculed and criticized by Lu Xun many times, as if he was labeled and looked down upon.
In fact, Yang Yinyu’s achievements in running education cannot be denied. After resigning as president of the Women's Normal University, she set up a school in Suzhou. After the Japanese army invaded Suzhou, she protected the students with awe-inspiring righteousness. On January 1, 1938, she was shot dead by the Japanese army and thrown into the river. Yang Jiang's sister Yang Bi was a professor at Fudan University and translated "Vanity Fair". During the Cultural Revolution, he committed suicide after being beaten and humiliated by the Red Guards.
