Liaoning Provincial Museum, known as "Provincial Bo" by Shenyang people, is located in the northeast of the central square in Hunnan District, Shenyang (No.157, Wisdom Third Street, Hunnan District, close to the new Shenyang municipal government, with an area of 83,2 square meters and a construction area of 1,13 square meters. It is divided into five business areas: exhibition, audience service, cultural relics warehouse, cultural relics protection and comprehensive business.
Its predecessor is the Northeast Museum, which opened on July 7, 1949. It is the first museum established in New China, and is well-known at home and abroad for its rich collections and distinctive features. The total number of cultural relics in the collection is 112, (sets), especially in the Jin and Tang Dynasties, such as A Book Written by Wang Xizhi in the Tang Dynasty, Cao E's Recital, Zhang Xu's Four Postscripts of Ancient Poems in Cursive Script, The Picture of a Lady with Flowers, You Chuntu, the Lady of Guo, and Huizong's Thousand-character Cursive Script and the Picture of Ruihe in the Northern Song Dynasty.
The construction of the new Liaoning Provincial Museum is also quite distinctive, and this project was awarded the Luban Award, the highest honor for the quality of construction projects in China in 214.
