Introduction of Dabeitang Scenic Spot:
The Great Compassion Hall is located in the back hall of the Great Compassion Hall, namely the Great Compassion Guanyin Bodhisattva Hall. There is a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva with 24 arms in the temple. Guanyin Bodhisattva is called the Hall of Great Compassion because of its great compassion.
In addition to the plaque of the Great Compassion Hall, there is also a plaque on the door of the Great Compassion Hall that reads the four characters of Purdue Labyrinth. There are two couplets on each side of the temple gate. The first part is: the line is deep and prajnaparamita, and the five elements are empty and comfortable. The second part is: Pumen Show, Seeking Sound to Save the King from Suffering, by Sun Qifeng, a professor and famous painter of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. The other one was written by Li Henian, a famous Tianjin calligrapher. The first part is: The Thirty-two Bodies of Compassion Should Be Purchased at Random, and the second part is: The founder of Tong Yuan took millions of pictures of students.
The statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva enshrined in the temple is 3.6 meters high and full of gold, which is solemn and moving. It was designed and presided over by Professor Wang Jiabin, a sculptor of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and it took two years to carve carefully. Adopting traditional sculpture art and modern aesthetic perspective, the statue has a pair of discerning eyes, and the black eyes of both eyes can look straight left and right with the movement of the viewer.
There are murals drawn by the Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts on the front and both sides of Great Compassion Hall. The content of the mural is a picture of the deeds of Sakyamuni Buddha, divided into 10, which introduces the main deeds of the Buddha's becoming a monk, enlightenment, preaching, speaking, educating all beings and nirvana. The depiction and composition of figures absorbed the art of murals in Dunhuang and Tang Dynasty and were drawn according to Buddhist laws and regulations. Mural painting is not directly painted on the wall, but a fake wall made of another kind of fiber, about ten centimeters away from the inner wall of the temple, thus solving the problem of moistureproof. The whole mural is covered with canvas, and then painted on canvas. The paint is made of plastic PVC, which can keep the picture from fading and falling off for a long time.
