It means: Bring the tin box and gold hairpin as a souvenir to the king.
Source: "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" - Tang Dynasty: Bai Juyi
Looking back at the world, Chang'an is nowhere to be seen, dust and mist are seen.
I will send my old things to express my deep affection, and send my hairpin to the future.
Leave one strand of the hairpin and combine it into a fan; break the hairpin into gold and combine it into two pieces.
But the heart of teaching is as strong as gold, and we will meet in heaven and on earth.
Looking at the human world from the fairyland, you can't see the haunting Chang'an, only the vast dust and mist. I can only express my deep feelings with the tokens from back then. You can bring the mother-of-pearl box and gold hairpin as a souvenir to the king. Divide the golden hairpin and the tin box into two halves, and the king and I each keep one half. I hope our loving hearts are as loyal and strong as golden treasures, and we will always have the chance to meet again in heaven and on earth.
