Shunde Qinghui Garden, Foshan Chancheng Liangyuan, Guangzhou Panyu Yuyin Mountain Residence and Dongguan Keyuan are also called the four famous gardens in Lingnan.
The original site of Qinghui Garden in Shunde was the residence of Huang, the champion of the late Ming Dynasty. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the local dragon was a scholar, so he bought this garden and passed it on to his son Long Tinghuai and Long Tingzi. In order to repay his mother's kindness, Long Tinghuai rebuilt the Qinghui Garden and gave it to her as a gift on her birthday. In the 11th year of Jiaqing, Long Tinghuai's son asked the painter Li Zhaoluo to write the word "Qinghuiyuan". After several generations of careful construction, the pattern has been finalized.

Yin Xi Bookstore and Yanzhen Building are next to the ship hall. The front door of the former is facing the lotus pond, and you can have a panoramic view of the lotus pond when standing in the bookstore. The main entrance of the latter is facing a shady garden with tall old trees and a hexagonal pool. The children of the Long family who study here are tired of reading, so they can entertain themselves in the garden.
Further on, you will reach the boathouse, which is one of the architectural essences of the whole park. It is located in the northeast corner of the lotus pond, modeled after the "Purple Cave Boat" in the ancient Pearl River Delta region. There is an open cloister on the second floor of the ship hall, which is particularly open by the square pool. This is the bow. There is a Salix psammophila planted next to the lotus pond in front of the "Boat Hall", which grows beside the hall and symbolizes the bamboo pole for stabilizing the boat. Because it is said that it was built by the owner for the sake of his eye, it is also called "Miss House".

In Qinghui Garden, almost every building is engraved with plaques inscribed by celebrities, which makes the garden shine. For example, the inscription of the name of Qinghui Garden was written by Jiangsu Wu Jinshi and calligrapher Li Zhaoluo (1769- 184 1). On the veranda between the boathouse and the library, there is a "in-depth" plaque made by the eleventh son of Qianlong.
The word "Yan Zhen Fu" was inscribed by He (1799- 1873), an outstanding calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty. The inscription Xiao Pengying was written by Song Xiang (1756- 1826), a famous poet in Qianlong period. The "Fengtai" plaque and the "Gui" plaque in the Flower Pavilion were written by Li Wentian (1834- 1895), the right assistant minister of Xianfeng Flower Exploration Department, Ritual Department and Ministry of Industry.
There is also Kang Youwei's original extension (1858- 1927), which can be seen in Yun Xuan Corridor. On the edge of the pavilion in the corridor, there is a couplet entitled "Qinghuiyuan" inscribed by Li Jian, a famous Lingnan poet in Qing Dynasty (1747- 1799). White lotus blooms and red dragonflies fly.
Bixi Caotang is said to be the earliest building of Qinghui Garden, which was built in Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty and was the main living room of the owner. The most attractive thing about this house is its main entrance, which is a round door with a scientific name of "round lampshade". The doorframe is carved into two overlapping bamboo beams. At the bottom of the two doors, there are 48 "shou" characters engraved with official script, seal script and bird and insect script, which have different forms and are called "100-day shou".
Keep walking, and you will see the highest rockery in the whole park-Fenglai Peak. The waterfall on the rockery about 13m high pours down, and you can't help sighing in your heart: "The waterfall under Fenglai Peak is gradually falling, and the sun shines on Hongqiao."
It is called "Fenglaifeng" because this rockery is as lifelike as a flying phoenix. There are springs and waterfalls flowing down the mountain, making a "roaring" sound and bringing a gentle breeze. At the junction of waterfalls and ponds, rainbows often appear, indicating that they are very beautiful. The waterfall flows into the pond. The water in the pond is very clear, and a group of koi fish are playing happily in the water. The whole Fenglai Peak looks beautiful from the window! In addition to Fenglaifeng, there are nearly ten pavilions and bathing pools in the park, which is really a garden with the characteristics of Lingnan water town!
The stained glass for decorative doors and windows in Qinghui Garden is a precious colored carved glass in Qing Dynasty. These glasses are imported from abroad and made by craftsmen using unique etching, turning and hand-drawing techniques in ancient China. Among the color matching carved glasses, gold is the best, followed by blue and red. These three kinds of glass are available in Qinghui Garden.
Above the entrance of Mu Yingjian, there are eight "gold pieces" embedded. The work carved on this piece is Eight Scenes of Yangcheng in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, which is the only existing glass product of Eight Scenes of Old Yangcheng in Qing Dynasty and has been identified as a national first-class protected cultural relic. In addition, there are six "yellow movies" on the first floor window of Liu Fen Pavilion and eight "red films" on the doors and windows of Linglong Pavilion.
Go on, and you will arrive at Table 8 Champs Elysé es. It is said that in ancient times, dragon children liked to go to the Eight Table Pavilion. This is because the Eight Tables Pavilion has eight windows, and the fragrance wafts from all directions. This is probably the case with "water in your hand and flowers on your clothes". What I like best is its nature and beautiful scenery. Standing in the middle of eight tables of fragrant pavilions, looking to the left, are some small saplings; Looking to the right, it is a small rockery, and the Muying River is in front of it. Mu Yingjian combined with the pool to create a natural and beautiful landscape painting with the characteristics of a water town. From the blue sky, supported by the pavilion, and then turned to the small arch bridge with a pond at the bottom, reflected in the water, a very poetic picture-in-picture was synthesized. ?
The Champion Hall is a solemn place. Walking in is an octagonal pavilion, and walking further inside is the place where the top scholar studies.
There is an imperial examination culture exhibition hall, ancient papers, which are equivalent to today's admission notice, good news pictures, and a top scholar list, which records the top scholar, second place and flower exploration in each dynasty. There are also the styles and colors of the clothes of the first scholar. In order to "everything is inferior, only reading is high." In feudal society, I think these people: "Ten years of hardship, just to be the top scholar", honor their ancestors and realize their own value. I think we should learn from the attitude of the ancients to study hard now.
Standing in front of the Zhuangyuan Pavilion and looking out, the scenery is picturesque. Pavilions, flowers, birds, insects and fish are beautiful.

The grass, trees, couplets, flowers, birds, insects and fish in Qinghuiyuan are all exquisitely carved, with extremely rich meanings and connotations. It takes patience and time to taste them slowly. The more you taste, the more you will appreciate the profoundness of China culture.
