Bi Daoyuan (181-1889) was a middle-ranking person, whose name was Donghe. One of the eight famous calligraphers in Qing Dynasty, he was born in Wanjiazhuang, Zichuan County (now Wanjiazhuang, Wangcun Town, zhoucun district City, Zibo). Qing court officials. In 1839 (19th year of Daoguang), he was a juren, and in 1841 (21st year of Daoguang), he was a scholar. At first, he was appointed as the official examiner of the Imperial Academy, the official examiner of Shanxi Province, the registered imperial censor, and the secretary for economic affairs to wash horses. In 1851 (the first year of Xianfeng), he was compiled by the National History Museum. Later, he served as a lecturer in the Imperial Academy, a bachelor's degree in attendance, a school manager in Wenyuan Pavilion, an examiner in Shuntian Township Examination, a chief examiner in Guangxi, a wine-offering imperial academy, a bachelor's degree in cabinet and assistant minister of rites, an assistant minister in the Ministry of War, a right assistant minister in the household department in charge of Qianfatang affairs, a left assistant minister in the household department in charge of three treasury affairs, and a governor's warehouse. In 1882 (in the eighth year of Guangxu), he was awarded the Imperial Examiner of Zuodu in Douchayuan, the Deputy Examiner of Shuntian Township Examination and the Minister of Military Affairs. Later, he served as the minister of rites, the official of the banquet, the president of Wuyingdian, the vice president of Yudie Museum and the governor of Shuntian Tianfu.
