The Shawshank Redemption's comments

Freedom, hope, friendship-I feel like a high wall when I watch The Shawshank Redemption, as fierce as a prison guard and as shabby as a facility ... This is my first impression of Shawshank prison. Andy Doffery, a banker with a successful career and bright future, was unjustly accused of killing his wife and lover and sentenced to life imprisonment in Shawshank prison. Without the charge of murder, he becomes useless, his future and future are ruined and he can't turn over. Prison life is not like hell, but it is enough to make people physically and mentally exhausted. Prison guards treat prisoners cruelly and abuse them with dirty language, making them feel that prison guards and prisoners are two different creatures-man and dog. Prison guards are always have it both ways, who oppresses and bullies prisoners who are unable to resist. The prisoner is not powerless to resist, but will not resist. The concept of "being a prisoner" is deeply imprinted in their minds. Unlike Andy, Andy bravely asked the prison guard to help him buy beer for his friends with his own wisdom. This can make them feel that they live more like free and normal people than "dogs". Andy is obviously different from other prisoners in the prison: the word "give up" is not in his dictionary, and the letter sent to the state legislature has not been answered. He didn't give up, day after day, and finally the state legislature allocated funds to renovate the library; He has always been rebellious, playing Italian opera in the studio makes the warden helpless; He is willing to crack down on evil, first "help" the warden to launder money together, and then hand over the handle to the relevant departments to eradicate the black forces and bring corruption to justice. It seems that from the first day Andy entered Shawshank Prison, Shawshank Prison became unusual. Andy has been trying to escape from prison since he entered prison. Mastering excellent geology, he accidentally found a way to escape from prison. Although Reid said that "it will take at least 600 years to dig a tunnel from here", his yearning for a free life is that he has not lost hope of escaping from prison. He is more motivated to dig a tunnel with a hammer at unpredictable speed and excellent concealment ability, so that he can successfully escape from prison, regain his freedom and live an ideal lifestyle. Although I don't quite agree with Andy's "irrational" approach, his desire and yearning for freedom really shocked me. Unlike other prisoners, he lost confidence in life. In Andy's heart, hope burns like a raging flame and never goes out. Andy and Reid, like brothers, are rare and unique scenery in prison. There are other inmates who are willing to find stones to play chess for Andy. Andy's instruction to Reid made him lose confidence in life and eventually commit suicide after he was released from prison. At the end of the play, Andy and Reid hugged each other tightly on the island beach, which further reflected their eternal friendship. Such an ending is certainly worthy of our celebration, but such a tragic ending as Lao Bu is also worthy of our deep thinking. Are those who have been "reformed" from prison really "reformed"? Is the reform just to make them stop breaking the law and become good citizens? As Reid said, "I can get anything in prison, but when I get out of prison, I have nothing." We should give them confidence in being human, not make them feel useless. The Shawshank Redemption is an excellent film and television work about freedom, hope and friendship, which deserves our middle school students' careful appreciation.
