Introduction to Baiyuan

After crossing the Yihe River from Longmen Bridge, you will see the gate of Baiyuan on the left. Go straight in the door, but you will see that the road turns back to the peak, and there are dense forests; the mountain springs are tinkling, and the pool water is clear and green. Extremely elegant. Walking up the stone steps, there is a pavilion on the mountainside called "Tingyi". This pavilion is where Bai Juyi and his friends Yuan Zhen and Liu Yuxi played chess, drank wine, drank tea, and discussed poetry in his later years.

Going up from Tingyi Pavilion, there is a simple and elegant pavilion among the dangerous rocks and green cypresses, with the inscription "Happy Paradise". In the hall, there is a statue of Bai Juyi carved in white marble, with plain clothes and a dove staff, which is lifelike. There is a state of ecstasy.

Go out of Paradise and walk up the stone steps to the right, which is the top of Pipa Peak. Among the green cypresses, there is a circular tomb mound surrounded by low brick walls, which is the resting place of Bai Juyi, the great poet of the Tang Dynasty. On the top of the circular tomb, the grass grows luxuriantly. There are three tall stone tablets erected in front of the tomb, one of which is engraved with the six characters "Tang Shaofu Bai Cemetery". Climb high to look at the tomb, which looks like a pipa. The hill where the white tomb is located is the "harp box". To the southeast is a long grass tomb passage, surrounded by neat holly. In the center of the emerald green grass, three "harp strings" are clearly visible. This is the "curved neck" of the pipa. The poet is proficient in rhythm, and he also wrote "Pipa Xing", an eternal ode. This mountain, this tomb, and this Longmen place are the best places for him to rest forever.

Going from the tomb passage to the left and down to the gentle peak waist, you can see the quaint nine-curved corridor. The walls of the corridor are fully inlaid with poems chanted by modern poets and the full text of "Pipa Xing" by Bai Juyi. On the right side of the tomb, there is a huge stone tablet. Inscribed with "The Biography of Mr. Zuiyin", the stele weighs 24 tons and is currently the largest stone book in China.

The main attractions in Baiyuan include more than 10 places such as Qinggu District, Paradise, Poetry Gallery, Tomb Area, Japanese Calligraphy Gallery, and Daoshi Bookstore. Qinggu District is located between two mountains, including Baichi, Tingyi Pavilion, Shibanqiao, Songzhu, and Bailian. Entering Qinggu District, waterfalls are cascading, pools are rippling, bamboo forests are green in the breeze, and white lotus flowers are fragrant, making people relaxed and happy. Paradise is surrounded by mountains and rivers, facing Qinggu, where poets write poems and meet friends. The natural rocks in the room are exposed, and the white marble statues are natural and unrestrained. , sitting quietly on the rocks, giving people the feeling of thinking deeply about the Ming Dynasty. Standing in front of the paradise, you can deeply recall the poet's original works: there is always water in front of the door, there are many tall trees on the wall, and the bamboo path circles the lotus pond, lingering for more than a hundred steps. The 38 standing stones in the poetry gallery are written by famous Chinese and foreign writers, in cursive, cursive and seal script. , complete official script, you can not only appreciate Bai Juyi's masterpieces, but also appreciate the beauty of calligraphy art. The Japanese Calligraphy Gallery was built for the exchange of calligraphy between China and Japan. Most of the works are works by famous contemporary Japanese calligraphers. It was completed and opened to the outside world in March 2000. The tomb area is located at the top of Pipa Peak and can be reached by climbing up the steps from the Peony Altar. There are Bai Juyi's tomb, lying stone tablet, Wutou Gate and standing stones of guests and ethnic groups who admire Bai Juyi at home and abroad. The ground in front of the tomb is paved with stone, and the lawn behind the tomb is like a carpet, surrounded by green cypresses, giving people a solemn and solemn feeling.

The White Garden is a commemorative garden with simple and elegant buildings. There are flowers in three seasons, evergreen all year round, and winding paths. It’s a great place to visit.
