Master Jueying, whose Dharma name is Chengxin and his nickname is undoubtedly Zhang Pingzhong, is the youngest in his family. He was born on the 13th day of the second lunar month in 1969 in Linshui County, Sichuan Province. He holds a bachelor's degree from the French Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1992 and then worked in the Hainan Provincial Public Security Department. He voluntarily resigned in October 1993, and immediately became a monk in the Kelin Courtyard of Guangxiao Temple in Guangdong, in front of the statues of the Sixth Patriarch Huineng and Guanyin Master, in accordance with the abbot of Dinghui Temple in Zhenjiang, Shang Ming Xia Shan, to fulfill his long-cherished wish.
The reason why the Master became a monk was due to fate... When he was a boy, his brother and father died of illness at home, which made him think about life and death, the eternity of life, and the issues of pain and joy. As a result, I developed a strong interest in philosophy and ideological books when I first entered college. Gradually, I became interested in traditional religious books such as Christianity, Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. In particular, I developed a deep and unwavering joy and yearning for the meaning of Buddhism.
During college, even before I had any obvious exposure to Buddhist knowledge, I would sometimes see pagodas, Buddha statues and temples in my sleep; sometimes I would see myself walking in a dilapidated temple, and I would feel sad. The feeling of sighing.
When I was in college, I had the chance to get to know several classmates who had Buddhist beliefs in our school. We often went to the temple together on Sundays, attended Dharma meetings, and listened to the Dharma lectures by the Buddhist masters. Later, I invited many Buddhist scriptures myself, and one of them, a master In the dormitory of classmates, we meet once a week to recite scriptures together, and are filled with Dharma joy
When I first went to a temple to worship Buddha, I once worshiped in front of the Guanyin Bodhisattva statue in the Yuantong Hall of Guangji Temple in Beijing, and I couldn't help but burst into tears and cried. Cheng Sheng felt the inexplicable grievances and pains of life. After first listening to the lecture on "The Theory of Awakening of Faith in the Mahayana" in the temple, during a meditation, I unintentionally developed the intuition that the tangible objects and scenes in front of me are at the same time formless and formless. Such a kind of "emptiness" means "existence" and "the same substance is not two". . From then on, a feeling of open-mindedness and joy spontaneously emerged in my heart. Soon after, a feeling of compassion for all, equality and no difference spontaneously emerged in my heart. The above state lasted for roughly half a month. From then on, I felt that I had a more genuine confidence and understanding of the meaning of Buddhist scriptures such as the Heart Sutra and the Diamond Sutra. This intuitive experience occurred three times. This is the most fundamental motivation to promote one's further interest and yearning for Buddhism and eventually become a monk.
In the early days of becoming a monk, he lived in Daluo Mountain in Wenzhou to practice Dharma. Later, he followed the teacher's instructions and went to Hebi Jingju Temple in Henan to live in the mountains and practice. In the first half of 1995, he followed the teacher's order to go to the Yuanju Santan Grand Temple in Chengdu Baoguang Temple. Precepts; soon, due to fate, I followed my master to the Lingyan Ancient Temple, followed his teachings, and settled here until now.
In studying Buddhism, I have always relied on the great Buddhist master Yuan Yin to cultivate my mind. Under the guidance, guidance and encouragement of Master, I will try my best to realize the "ancestor's carelessness" in matters. "I am so lucky that my faith and practice in Buddhism have not wavered yet, and my confidence has not diminished. I am so lucky! I am so ashamed!" the Master sighed to himself.
