Wang Xizhi, the famous calligrapher of the Jin Dynasty, loved calligraphy since he was a child. When he was seven years old, he learned calligraphy from Mrs. Wei, a famous contemporary calligrapher, and practiced hard every day. When he didn't have ink or a brush, he would write on his clothes with his hands, and sometimes use branches to write on the sand. According to legend, he practiced calligraphy by the Lanting Pond in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. The water used to wash his brushes and inkstones turned the pond water black. After twenty years of hard study and practice, he finally became a world-famous calligrapher, and his works have been passed down through the ages!
Coincidentally, the famous modern painter Huang Yongyu is also working very hard. His lotus paintings are admired by the world, but does anyone know how many lotus sketches he has painted? Even Huang Yongyu himself couldn't figure it out. Once, he asked his son to count how many sketches he had drawn. The son brought them in bundles, each with a hundred sheets, and there were more than eighty bundles. After more than 20 years of hard sketching, Huang Yongyu repeatedly studied the techniques of painting lotus, absorbed the strengths of various schools, and integrated them into one. Finally, the lotus he painted has a unique charm!
