The Creation and Research of Weibei Calligraphy from the Contemporary Perspective
Summary of thematic report exhibition
After two years' efforts, the exhibition of Weibei calligraphy creation and research report from the contemporary perspective was recently held in Nanning. This project was independently completed by Yang Shiquan, a full-time calligrapher in our college, and 50 representative works were exhibited.
The purpose of this topic is to study how to display the rich and colorful remains of Weibei calligraphy from the perspective of contemporary exhibition halls, show its unique beauty of boldness and fortitude, and discuss the learning and creation of Weibei calligraphy.
Weibei is a style that changed from official script to regular script in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. It has the characteristics of official script and regular script, and its pen and structure are flexible and changeable. Wei Bei's calligraphy style is vigorous, in line with the high-spirited style of the times, full of interest and artistic appreciation. Wei Bei's creation can integrate the elements of official script, seal script and running script, which is very free and inclusive. Since Ruan Yuan, Bao, Kang Youwei and others praised Weibei in Qing Dynasty, the study of steles has flourished. Weibei has diverse styles and rich remains, which provides convenient conditions for research and creation, as well as considerable aesthetic elements, and has broad prospects.
There are several types of works in this exhibition: first, large-scale temporary works, represented by Enlarged Epitaph of Yuan Zhen in Tonglin, Enlarged Epitaph of Bili in Tonglin and Enlarged Statue at the Beginning of Gong Ping Festival, all reaching 4? M, the maximum width12m, is intended to study how Wei Bei's vigorous calligraphy is displayed from the perspective of contemporary exhibition halls. These large masterpieces are the most concerned in this exhibition; 2. This album is a temporary work, represented by Zhang Tonglin Menglong Monument, Tong Lin Yan Monument and Tong Lin Yao Boduo Statue. With a large number of marginal notes, it interprets the mystery and discusses the choice of the vague and broken Weibei remains, expecting to share the author's "restoration" achievements on the broken Weibei remains. The "report" of this exhibition is most directly reflected here. Thirdly, works created in Wei Bei's various styles, such as Lao Mo Xin, Xi Shan Qin Kuang, Tan Excerpt, etc., show the intuitive change of the author from "pro" to "creation".
The project report exhibition lasted for 9 days and attracted many book lovers, including Guilin, Yulin, Baise, Chongzuo, Qinzhou and even further Shaanxi.

The difference between Weibei and Tang Kai can be compared to the difference between children and old people. Children are lively and lovely, full of energy, and old people are clever and dull. Young children can "urinate without knowing the direction", which is also interesting. Old people hiding in street corners urinate everywhere, which is often regarded as indecent and called "bad old man".
The ancient people's comments on Wang Xizhi's ci, such as "Tianmen in Yue Long, Tiger Lying in the Phoenix Que", puzzled many people, even the great calligrapher Mi Fei thought it was "what a strange language". In fact, understanding this sentence is very simple. Just grab the words "jump" and "lie". Jumping is moving, lying is static, and the word "Wang" has static in moving, static in moving, and the combination of static and dynamic has reached a wonderful realm.
"Speaking as you are" does not mean that a person's character is as good as his/her own. I often find that honest people write irregularly, while those who are very ostentatious write timidly. The "person" here is not a person's character, but an idea. A person's understanding of calligraphy, aesthetic pursuit and value orientation are often reflected between his lines. Therefore, it is better to say "words are like people" than "words are like people".
I like fairy steamed stuffed bun slices very much, but so far no successful scholars have convinced me. The difficulty is that its writing is naive and it is not easy for adults to imitate it. It's hard to create a set of baby movements!
After thousands of years of inheritance and evolution, it is difficult for modern people to write ancient things, just as orangutans can no longer evolve into adults.
The things of the ancients, such as the spring at the source, are natural and environmentally friendly, and can be safely drunk without treatment. Modern people's things have not been tested by history, and they are polluted river water downstream. They can't be drunk without purification and disinfection. Therefore, if modern people's things have a good aesthetic, they can learn from them, and never talk about things directly with the law.
To learn calligraphy, we should stick to it. The key to adhering to calligraphy is to choose and choose, find out the mystery and absorbable nutrients in calligraphy, and then "resemble". Being "liked" only shows that you have a certain vision and hard work, not the ultimate goal.
Calligraphy is divided into calligraphy and epigraphy. The calligraphy is clear and beautiful, and the stone tablet is broken and blurred. The post is like a beautifully carved jade, which can be played with, and any processing on it is redundant; Monuments, such as rough jade just mined, can be carved at will as needed, and after several times of carving, they can be made into utensils.
Under the modern exhibition mechanism, many calligraphy works are beautiful and dazzling, but they can only be "seen" but not "read". I don't know where to read a work and I can't read it well. So it's called "see" exhibition and "visit" exhibition, and no one says "see" exhibition. Haven't you noticed that the works in the exhibition hall are hung noisily, just like Jay Chou's concert, singing while talking? The scene is very lively, the lights are dazzling and the noise is very strong. After a song, I don't know what he is singing. The biggest impression is that it is just lively.
Inscriptions are vague, and stele scholars are eager to investigate the poor engraving behind the inscriptions and the "misreading" of the original words. Therefore, there are some ideas such as "looking at the pen through the blade" and "replacing the knife with a pen", which pay little attention to their current aesthetic feelings and put the cart before the horse. The aesthetic feeling presented by a word comes first. As for whether the sculptor is excellent or not, we don't have to think too much about the stroke shape of the characters before carving, just as we know that eggs are delicious, so why bother to investigate the problem of "chicken" of laying hens.
