What is the impression of people who have been to Guangzhou on this city? Many people will think that Guangzhou is an international metropolis with prosperity, high-rise buildings, fashion, charm and so on. When you travel to Guangzhou, you can not only see the city scenery of skyscrapers, but also visit the mountains and feel the profound historical and cultural heritage of Guangzhou, an ancient city of more than 2,000 years. Although the name "Guangzhou" did not appear until the Dongwu period of the Three Kingdoms, before that, the city of Guangzhou had changed with the names of "Panyu", "guangzhou fu" and "Xing". Guangzhou is the first batch of famous historical and cultural cities in China. As a central city in the south, it has a prosperous business for thousands of years. Although ancient Guangzhou was far from the Central Plains, it also had a glorious history. Among the many historical attractions in Guangzhou, if someone tells you that there is a royal garden site in Guangzhou with a history of more than "1 100 years", have you heard of it? Do you know where it is in Guangzhou?
Guangzhou, a royal garden site with a history of more than "1 100 years", is called Yaozhou Site. The Southern Han Kingdom of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms began to be called the state in 9 17, and the separatist party established Guangzhou as its capital for three years (9 19). Ada, the founding emperor of the Southern Han Dynasty, lived a luxurious life and chose to build a royal garden along today's West Lake Road and Education Road. Xihu Road used to be an area where natural waterways flowed. Ada ordered the expansion and widening of waterways, chiseled a 500-foot lake area, and built pavilions, waterside pavilions and curved bridges beside the lake. This is the Royal Garden of Southern Han Dynasty in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period: West Lake. Then there is an artificial lake in the middle of the lake, surrounded by strange flowers and rocks, and pavilions are looming among the green trees. Ada gathered alchemists to practice Dan medicine on the mainland, so this small sandbar was named Yaozhou.
After the Northern Song Dynasty destroyed the Southern Han Dynasty, this garden survived, and Yaozhou became a summer resort for literati boating. From the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Yaozhou was a famous garden in Lingnan, and many famous poets and poets left poems and songs. In the Ming Dynasty, "Yaozhou Xiao Chun" was also listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Yangcheng. Today, most of the West Lake has become a market, but the ruins of Yaozhou still exist. On a free day this spring, after visiting Beijing Road, Miss Shanshan decided to visit Yaozhou Site in this royal garden with a history of "1 100".
Yaozhou site is located in Jiaoyu Road, Guangzhou, at the junction with Xihu Road. Among them, West Lake Road is named after the former royal garden West Lake. Yaozhou station turns and goes straight for a period of time to reach the most prosperous commercial pedestrian street of Beijing Road in Guangzhou. In fact, Yaozhou Site is also a key attraction of Beijing Road Cultural Tourism Zone. When Shanshan transferred from Beijing Road to Yaozhou Site on Education Road, she saw that the periphery of the site was full of high-rise buildings. The area and appearance of the whole Yaozhou site are very small. If she hadn't come here on purpose, she might not have come in and missed it. During the whole visit, there were few other tourists.
Entering Yaozhou site, I found that it is a completely different world from the outside. There are many old trees and a small lake and green water in Yaozhou site, and it feels very quiet. However, the site area in front of us is not large, and the panoramic view can be seen at a glance. It no longer has the grand momentum of the royal garden, as if it were a garden or a small garden. 1 100 years later, only this small piece of ruins remains in this royal garden.
Walking around Yaozhou ruins, it is easy to be attracted by the "stones" in the small lake. These stones were collected by Ada from all over the country when he was gardening. They are called "Nine Obsidian Stones". "Nine" has many meanings (some people think that it is not necessarily nine pieces, but nine is just an imaginary number, and there are countless descriptions), and "Obsidian" is originally the name of the star. The sun, moon and stars are all called "Obsidian", and the seven stars of the sun, moon, fire, water, wood, gold and earth are collectively called "Seven Obsidian". "Nine Planets" is another name for "Nine Planets". According to records, these stones used to be dozens of feet high, as if they were stars in the sky. These stones are "thin", "transparent" and "wrinkled", with different shapes, sizes and colors.
Only after 1 100 years of vicissitudes, there are eight stones at the scene, which have been severely weathered and incomplete. Think about it, it should be far from the original appearance. It is said that for more than 1000 years, the Nine Obsidian Stone in Yaozhou Site has attracted many scholars and celebrities, such as the philosopher Zhou Dunyi and the poet Su Dongpo in Song Dynasty, who have left stone carvings or inscriptions here and become garden attractions with historical and calligraphy artistic value. In the long stele gallery on the right hand side of Yaozhou site, all the inscriptions are well preserved.
Among the stone inscriptions, the word "Yaozhou" inscribed by Mi Fei, a great calligrapher in the Song Dynasty, is the most famous, and it has been regarded as a treasure by the stone circles in past dynasties, and is honored as "Mi's". ? This "rice market" is now in Yaozhou, and its shape is like the Chao Cave where a court minister saw the emperor, so it is called Shi Shui. Unfortunately, the handwriting on the stone is unrecognizable, but fortunately, the original work is also engraved on the stone tablet of the stele gallery. In addition, the plaque hanging on the lintel of the site, which reads "Yaozhou" and the next paragraph "Mino Bird title", is copied from the original.
After visiting Yaozhou ruins, Miss Shanshan came back to see the Yaozhou gatehouse that she had just missed. This gatehouse is the architectural style of the Five Dynasties, giving people an antique feeling. At this time, there was no one in the garden. I feel very comfortable sitting in front of the stele gallery, enjoying the spring breeze, relaxing or reminiscing about the past.
So, have you ever been to Guangzhou? Do you know that there is a "1 100 years old" royal garden site around the downtown area of Beijing Road in Guangzhou: Yaozhou Site?
