What is the charm of Huang Ziyuan's ink in the mountains?

Huang Ziyuan (1837--1918), courtesy name Jingyu and Dansou, was a native of Longtang Township, Anhua County, Hunan Province. He was a calligrapher and industrialist in the late Qing Dynasty. Born in the seventeenth year of Daoguang (1837), he was elected to his hometown in the sixth year of Tongzhi (1867) of the Qing Dynasty. He ranked second in the palace examination the following year and was awarded the title of editor of the Hanlin Academy. He served as co-examiner of Shuntian Rural Examination and deputy examiner of Jiangnan Rural Examination. He died of illness in the 7th year of the Republic of China (1918). He once copied the calligraphy of "Ninety-two Methods of Intersection Structure Summary" and made an important contribution to the promotion of the book.
