When people come to Luzhi, many people will ask such a question, that is, how did this "Luzhi" come from and why is it called Luzhi here? According to Lifu Zhi, the original name was named after the Lifu Hall in the west of the town. Later, because there is a straight port in the east of the town, which connects six places, the shape of the water flow is as cool as the word "land", so it was renamed "". It is also said that the ancient unicorn "Lu Duan" visited China's land and found it to be a treasure trove of geomantic omen, so he stayed in Lu Zhi for a long time. Therefore, since the history of Lu Zhi, there has never been famine, drought or flood, and the people have plenty of food and clothing every year.
When people enter the ancient town, they will feel a sense of comfort, a unique freshness of Luzhi ancient town. The river in the town is clear, the environment is elegant, and places of interest are all over the town. Historical landscapes such as duck marsh breeze, clear spring, Wusong snow wave, bell in the sea, floating picture of sunset, fishing lotus lamp dome, Xihui town, etc. It was summed up by our ancestors and has been demolished, but most of them can still be found. Founded in 503 AD with a history of 1495, it is the first batch of national first-class key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council. Nine clay arhats carved by Yang Huizhi, a famous sculptor in the Tang Dynasty, have survived thousands of years in Cang Sang. Zhao Mengfu, a calligrapher in the Yuan Dynasty, once wrote a column for the temple: "When the beams are built in the Vatican Palace, the Buddhist forest in the Li Dynasty will be restored first, and the Lohan will trace back to the peerless Buddha statue in the south of the Yangtze River". Although bound by religious themes, the sense of reality is imposed on people with infinite power, which makes people feel a noble beauty. "
The Raven Pond, Xiaohongqiao and Qingfeng Pavilion in Baosheng Temple are the remains left by Lu Guimeng, a famous poet and writer in the late Tang Dynasty. He used to be the adjutant of Huzhou and Suzhou secretariat, but his family was poor and his life was difficult. He often plowed the fields with farmers, and he first invented the ox plow to let farmers turn the fields. The local farmers especially respect him.
More water and bridges are another feature of Lu Zhi Town. Luzhi has always enjoyed the reputation of "Bridge Capital" in the south of the Yangtze River. There are 72 and a half stone arch bridges of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties in an ancient town of one square kilometer, and there are 4 1 bridge in existence, with different shapes, characteristics and antiques. There are porous large stone bridges, single-hole small stone bridges, spacious arch bridges and narrow flat-topped bridges, as well as decorative double bridges, sister bridges adjacent to the left and right, and flat bridges convenient for the people, among which there are five double bridges with two bridges connected at right angles. Many people of insight said with emotion that after reading Straight Line, it is actually equivalent to visiting an ancient bridge museum, which is far denser than Venice, the Italian water city.
The ancient ginkgo biloba is one of the ancient symbols of Lu Zhi. This is not only an ancient symbol of the historical and cultural town of Luzhi, but also adds luster to the scenery of Luzhi. There are 7 ginkgo trees in the town, including 4 around Baosheng Temple. The oldest is 1300 years old and 50 meters high. Even three people can't get around. Despite thousands of years of wind and rain, she is still tall and strong. Ye Shengtao, a famous educator and writer, wrote the article "Tall Ginkgo Tree" during his teaching in Lu Zhi, and commented that the ancient ginkgo tree in Lu Zhi was "tall, strong-willed and magnificent", so Mr. Ye Lao took care of his relatives before his death and placed all his ashes in four ginkgo trees (Lu Zhi Baosheng Temple), so now Mr. Ye Lao's.
When people witnessed the ancient streets, houses and deep alleys of the town, they experienced another flavor of Luzhi ancient town. There are nine main streets in the town, all paved with pebbles and granite. The community is built by the river, and the front street is behind the river. People walk on the bridge and boats walk in the water. There are many shops on both sides of the street, business is booming and tourists are in an endless stream. No matter the house facing the street or the house facing the river, they are all white tiles, wooden doors and windows, and blue bricks with edges. Most of them are houses in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with patterns on the walls. There are 58 alleys in Guzhen District. The deepest alley is150m long. The houses in the alley are No.3, No.5, No.6, and the deepest one is No.7.
Then there is the traditional dress of Lu Zhi rural women, which is full of the water town customs with Lu Zhi characteristics. Heterosexual rural women, who always wear traditional clothes, are mainly characterized by bun, headscarf, patchwork shirt, trousers, skirt and embroidered shoes. Luzhi rural women are particularly conspicuous when they arrive in Suzhou and Shanghai, and they are called "Suzhou ethnic minorities" by city people. Up to now, Luzhi area still retains the traditional national costumes of women in Jiangnan water towns. Especially in the west of the town, women over 40 are still very popular. Every day in the town, women wearing these traditional costumes can be seen taking to the streets to go to the market, which is also a beautiful landscape in the ancient water town.
