Ou Yangxun experienced four dynasties: Liang, Chen, Sui and Tang. Why did he only say that he was from the Tang Dynasty?

It is generally believed that Ou Yangxun was from the Tang Dynasty. There is an unwritten rule in history that a person belongs to which dynasty, that is, which dynasty he belongs to when he started to "become a great writer" and "make a fortune". For example, although Sean crossed the Qin and Han Dynasties and assassinated Qin Shihuang, he was still recognized as "three outstanding heroes of early han dynasty" when he was introduced in history. Another example is Wu Sangui, who was named King of the Day by Kangxi after the Ming and Qing Dynasties. However, when he first entered the official career, he was an official of the Ming Dynasty and served as the company commander of Liaodong, so when introducing this person, it was generally said that he was from Liaodong in the Ming Dynasty.

On the other hand, when introducing someone in history, small countries and small courts are generally ignored, but the main line of history is the dynasty. "Everyone says that Jiangnan is good, and tourists only join Jiangnan. The spring water is greener than the sky, and tourists can sleep on the boat listening to the rain. The women selling wine in Jiangnan restaurant are all very beautiful, and their arms exposed when selling wine are as white as snow. Returning home before you are old will break your heart. " This was written by Wei Zhuang, a famous poet in the late Tang Dynasty. He was a famous person in Shu during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Shu is a small country with a short history, which is generally not included in the main line of historical dynasties. Therefore, later generations say that Wei Zhuang came from the late Tang Dynasty, and seldom from Shu.

Ou Yangxun was born in Nanliang and worked as an official in the Sui Dynasty, but he really made his fortune in the early Tang Dynasty. During the prosperous Tang Dynasty, he moved to Guanglu, Yin Qing, a doctor, a prince, a bachelor of Hong Wen Pavilion, and a duke of Bohai, also known as Ouyang Lvgeng. Together with the other three contemporaries (Yu Shinan, Chu Suiliang, Xue Qi), they are called the four masters of the early Tang Dynasty. The history of Sui Dynasty was short, and the degree of enlightenment and prosperity was far less than that of Tang Dynasty. Therefore, celebrities in the late Sui and early Tang Dynasties generally belong to the early Tang Dynasty. Qin Baoshu, the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty, was also an official in the Sui Dynasty, but no one said that he was from the Sui Dynasty, which is also the reason.
