Liu Moyan, a native of Luoyang, an ancient capital, is a famous contemporary calligrapher. He is currently a member of China Calligraphy Association, president of China Yanhuang Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, member of China Calligraphy Research Institute and president of Hongbaozhai Calligraphy and Painting Institute.

Mr. Liu Moyan studied calligraphy since he was a child, leafed through ancient monuments and famous posts, and realized the true significance of Chinese characters to the re-creation of calligraphy art, and was successively taught by famous teachers such as Qi Gong and Zhang Hai. Since 1993, calligraphy works have been selected and won prizes in the national calligraphy competition, which has attracted the attention of collectors at home and abroad. In 20 12, his paintings and calligraphy works were appraised as 6000 yuan/square foot by China Artists Appraisal Committee, and in 20 13, he was appraised as one of the top 100 national painters and calligraphers by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Calligraphers Association.
