How to Teach Pupils to Practice Calligraphy

1, let children master the correct writing posture and pen holding method.

Correct writing posture: eyes are one foot away from the exercise book, fingers are one inch away from the pen tip, chest is punched off the table edge, and shoulders should be equally flat. Take the method of holding a pen as an example. Because everyone's hands are different in size, there is no fixed way to hold a pen. However, considering the need of fast and good writing, we should relax our fingers and focus on wrist strength. At the same time, the included angle between the pen holder and the desktop is about 60 degrees, and the distance between the finger and the pen tip is about 1-2 cm, which can keep the flexibility of writing.

2. Let children practice writing every day.

This is a little difficult for children. When children are young, they get bored easily. Parents should set an example and practice calligraphy with their children. With the company of parents, it won't be so difficult for children to keep practicing calligraphy. In this process, parents can also compete with their children to see who writes well and increase their interest in practicing calligraphy. The time for children to practice calligraphy should not be too long, but about 20 minutes is appropriate.

3. Create a sense of ritual in writing.

Before writing, children should prepare the stationery they need and wash their hands, so that children can feel that writing and practicing calligraphy is a very serious matter and cannot be treated casually. Parents should not disturb their children when they are practicing calligraphy, and keep a relatively quiet environment.

4. Give your child appropriate encouragement when practicing calligraphy.

Practicing calligraphy is a rather boring thing. Parents should not scold children when they feel slack in practicing calligraphy. They should find their little progress and encourage them with new stationery and small gifts. Let the children get a sense of accomplishment, so that they can persist in practicing calligraphy.

5. Take the children to visit the calligraphy exhibition.

Light appreciation, fine taste and close appreciation of famous works can make children feel the charm of Chinese characters and understand the culture behind them. When reading calligraphy works, children will be exposed to knowledge that they can't learn in class at ordinary times and improve their interest in practicing calligraphy.
