Li Deren, whose courtesy name was Zefu, whose name was Jiyuan, and whose name was Cundaotang.
Born in 1946, his ancestral home is Yuci, Shanxi.
Excellent in Chinese landscape painting, calligraphy, and appraisal of calligraphy and painting. He also has in-depth research on Chinese philosophy, textual criticism, and Chinese Xingyi Quan.
In 1978, he was admitted to the Art Department of Shanxi University as a graduate student. After graduating in 1981, he stayed at the school to teach.
He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanxi University, and deputy director of the Institute of Art of Shanxi University.
