Introduction of calligraphy achievements in Cao Wei period;
During the Cao Wei period, calligraphy changed greatly on the basis of inheriting the calligraphy style of the Eastern Han Dynasty. At the end of the Han Dynasty, official script gradually lost its typical characteristics, and the brushwork such as pressing the pen and skimming the pen became sharper, decorative and stylized, which seemed dull and lifeless. Regular script, which evolved from the combination of running script and official script, came into being at this time and gradually standardized.
He Jie Biao, written by Zhong You in the 24th year of Jian 'an (2 19), has shown all the basic stippling features of later regular script. Running script has also developed continuously, gradually becoming the most popular and practical writing method for the upper gentry in the north. Its representatives are Zhong You and Zhao Hu, who have their own characteristics under the guidance of Liu Desheng, a famous scholar in the late Han Dynasty.
Although seal script and official script declined gradually, they were still the most orthodox and representative characters at that time. Calligraphers are also proud to be good at seal script and official script, and they are still used in epitaphs, inscriptions, inscriptions of temples and palaces.
The ancient seal script in Cao Wei period is represented by the Three-body Stone Classic published by Luoyang Imperial College in Zhengshi period. Other works include Inscription on Zun, Inscription on Zen Table (the first year of Huang Chu), Inscription on Kongxian Inscription, Inscription on Paradigm Inscription, etc. His calligraphy still inherits the legacy of seal script in Han dynasty, with a slight change. Among them, the classic three-body stone is the most typical specification, and others are more casual.
