Wang Zhongyong is one of the most powerful young and middle-aged calligraphers in China. He has won nine national-level exhibition awards organized by the Chinese Calligraphers Association. He is also the winner of the first prize of the "Lanting Award", the highest award for Chinese calligraphy. He can calligraphy in all five styles, and is especially good at running script and cursive script. His short running script is elegant and loose, with the style of Jin and Tang Dynasties. He won the first prize of "Lanting Award" for this kind of calligraphy style. In recent years, cursive scripts have been modeled on the great cursive scripts of the Tang and Song dynasties, and imply the legacy of Zhang Cao. They are grand, unbridled, elegant and ancient, highlighting a strong personal outlook.
