Liu Hou Temple, located in Liu Hou Park, Liuzhou City, was built in memory of Liu Zongyuan, a famous writer in the Tang Dynasty. Liu Hou Temple, formerly known as Luochi Temple, is located in the west corner of Liu Hou Park in Liuzhou City.

Liu Zongyuan, 17 years old, a scholar, an official of the Ministry of Rites. In the first year of Tang Yongzhen (805), Sima Yongzhou was defeated and relegated because of his participation in Wang Innovation Group, followed by Liuzhou secretariat, and finally Liuzhou four years later. According to his last wish, the local people built a temple beside the Luohe River as a memorial. At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, he was named "Wen Huihou" in posthumous title, Song Huizong, and the ancestral hall was renamed "Liu Hou Temple".

Liu Hou Temple is located in Liu Hou Park, Liuzhou. This is a building in memory of Liu Zongyuan, a famous writer in Tang Dynasty. Liu Zongyuan (773-8 19) was born in Hedong (now west of Yuncheng, Shanxi). Tang Zhenyuan was a scholar and an official who supervised the imperial history. He joined the Wang Group, which advocated innovation at that time. The struggle failed, and he was demoted to Yongzhou Sima and later transferred to Liuzhou Secretariat. During his tenure, he abolished graft, exempted people from all kinds of debts, liberated handmaiden, set up culture and education, and got rid of superstition and bad habits.

This temple was built in Song Dynasty and rebuilt in Qing Dynasty. The plaque on the door was written by Guo Moruo, and the couplet was written by Han Yang in the Qing Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, Han Yu wrote a poem: "The mountains and rivers return to the yellow banana pear flower, and the spring and autumn will bless my life." The shrine is an ancient house with red columns and red beams. The first collection has more than 30 stone carvings since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and there are Liu Zongyuan's life information and later generations' paintings and calligraphy works hanging on the wall, which are dazzling and beautiful. In the central hall, there is a stone tablet carved in the Yuan Dynasty. Among the stone carvings beside the stone tablet, "Lizi Tablet" is the most famous. The inscription is from Han Yu's "Liuzhou Luochi Temple Monument". This poem is a tribute to Liu Hou, Su Shi, a famous writer and calligrapher in the Song Dynasty. The literary talent and charm of the three masters in the Tang and Song Dynasties are all condensed on one monument, so people call it "Han Shisu Liu Shu Stone Monument" or "Three Wonders Monument". In addition, there is a "Dragon City Stone Carving" on display in the hall, and the font on the tablet is Liu Zongyuan's handwriting. This monument was unearthed in the third year of Ming Dynasty (AD 1623). At that time, a dagger was dug up together, so people also called it "Ming Jian Monument". The existing "Dragon City Stone Carving" was painted by Liuzhou people on Zhou Yu 1933 according to the rubbings circulated by the people. The third entrance to the temple is the main hall. There is a statue of Liu Zongyuan in the middle. He is wearing a brown hat and official clothes of the Tang Dynasty. He has a wolf hair in his hand and is studying hard.

The present Liu Hou Temple was rebuilt according to the architecture of Qing Dynasty. There are many cultural relics and historical materials on display in the temple, reflecting Liu Zongyuan's life and achievements.
