Agarwood Pavilion by Xingqing Lake

Agarwood Pavilion is located in the east of the ancient city of Xi'an, in the beautiful Xingqing Palace Park. It is a famous pavilion with double eaves and a precious roof. It is a garden-style building in the Xingqing Palace of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty. It was a place where Emperor Ming of Tang Dynasty and Concubine Yang Guifei could cool off and escape the heat in summer. Legend has it that it was all built with agarwood, a precious wood, so it was called "Agarwood Pavilion". According to legend, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and Concubine Yang were admiring peonies by the Agarwood Pavilion. They were so excited that they hurriedly summoned the poet Li Bai to the palace to write a poem for the concubine. Although Li Bai was drunk, he wrote three famous poems in Qing Ping Diao in one stroke:

The clouds are like clothes, the flowers are like faces, the spring breeze is blowing the threshold, and the dew is rich.

If we hadn’t met at the top of the jade mountain, we would have met under the moonlight at Yaotai.

A branch of red dew is fragrant, and the clouds and rain in Wushan are in vain.

May I ask who is similar to the Han Palace? Poor Feiyan relies on her new makeup.

Famous flowers make the whole country happy, and the king will look at them with a smile.

Explanation: The spring breeze is infinitely hateful, and the Agarwood Pavilion leans on the railing in the north.

The current Chenxiang Pavilion was rebuilt in 1958 on the site of Tang Xingqing Palace. Mr. Guo Moruo, a great Chinese writer, and Mr. Zhao Puchu, a calligrapher, respectively inscribed plaques for the pavilion. Hanging on the west and east sides of the pavilion. The inscriptions of the two master calligraphers add a lot of color to Chenxiang Pavilion. At the same time, the architectural paradigm of Chenxiang Pavilion has also become a model for the restoration and imitation of Tang Dynasty architecture in Xi'an. Today, there are many high-rise buildings in Xi'an, but many buildings still imitate the style of this pavilion. There is a peony garden around the Agarwood Pavilion. The peonies are in full bloom, red, purple, light red, and all-white. They are delicate and noble. According to legend, Emperor Li Longji of the Tang Dynasty, the imperial concubine Yang Yuhuan, Li Guinian, an artist who was proficient in playing, playing and singing, and the poet Li Bai drank here, composed poems, played, played and sang.

One spring in the early years of Tianbao's reign, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty took Concubine Yang to the Chenxiang Pavilion to enjoy the flowers. Emperors, concubines, famous flowers, and singers are all already in the scene. All they lack are new words. At this time Li Bai came. He came drunk. This kind of drunkenness once made Du Fu marvel at it. There are poems to prove it: "Li Bai wrote hundreds of poems about drinking wine. He slept in a restaurant in Chang'an City. The emperor couldn't get on the ship when he called him, so he claimed that he was a wine fairy." Du Fu was also addicted to alcohol, even if he was afraid of losing money. The remaining money from the shyness can only buy a bucket of wine, and I also want to invite friends to a party. But Du Fu followed the rules. After the allotted horses were taken back, he did not dare to visit his friends anymore because he was "worrying about the official's anger when he traveled on foot."

"The famous flowers in the country love each other, and the king looks at them with a smile. It explains the infinite hatred of the spring breeze, and the agarwood pavilion leans on the railing in the north." This is the best description of the prosperous scene of the agarwood pavilion at that time among the three "Qing Ping Diao" Appropriate. The words and sentences are naturally generated, and there is no trace of deliberate modification. This is Li Bai's poetic style. There is an elegance and ease in the lines of his poems. They are not chanted out, but burst out under the influence of alcohol. Even this does not show the poet's talent. Even if it contains some charming poems, it still maintains the inherent quality of the poet. style.

It is certainly an honor to be praised by the emperor, but being praised does not mean that you will get an official position. In Tang Xuanzong's mind, Li Bai was just a poet, even an excellent poet. An official may become an excellent poet, but a poet may not necessarily become an excellent official. A poet has his own character. The better a poet is, the more obvious this character is. The poet is "poor".

The good poems written by Li Bai are unfettered. "The water of the Yellow River comes up from the sky and rushes into the sea never to return." "How majestic the West Mountain is, the stones are like lotus flowers and the clouds are like a platform." "Tianmu reaches the sky and stretches across the sky, overwhelming the five mountains and covering the red city." "The apes on both sides of the strait can't stop crying, and the boat has passed the Ten Thousand Mountains" all demonstrate the poet's majestic mind. People with this kind of poetic style are not suitable for being an official. Being an official is too restrictive. Even Du Fu, who spent half his life pursuing officialdom, said: "If you don't become a captain in Hexi, you will be miserable. I am afraid that the trend will go away, and I will not lead the government." Xiaoyao."

Li Bai finally walked out of Xingqing Palace and out of Chang'an City. Several years later, on the banks of the river, on Caishiji, Li Bai saw the reflection of the bright moon in the river. He thought of the soaring Dapeng, which spread its wings and flew to the sky 90,000 miles high. After Li Bai left, the famous concubine Yang Guifei was buried in Maweipo, and her fragrant soul disappeared.

The Agarwood Pavilion was left empty, standing alone on the bank of Xingqing Lake. It's really like "Who is similar to the Han Palace? Poor Feiyan Yi Xinzhuang.". "Explain the infinite hatred of the spring breeze, and the agarwood pavilion leans on the railing in the north."
