Steps to learn calligraphy
The first stage of learning calligraphy, that is, preparation before writing, some people think that this issue is not very important. But personally, I think this is a very important link. Just like pre-war training, you need to be fully prepared to win the battle. How to prepare before writing? First of all, we should make clear the purpose of learning calligraphy. By reading articles or works that introduce the basic knowledge of calligraphy, we should learn what posts (films) to choose, what words to practice, what pens to use, how to write, how to agree on writing posture and so on. It is very useful to know this before you start writing, so you can avoid detours.
The second stage of learning calligraphy is the primary stage of practicing calligraphy. It is generally believed that we should start with red paintings. In my opinion, painting red is not that important. First of all, copy according to the post (monument), which can directly train beginners' imitation ability. If you find it difficult at first, you can start with basic strokes, such as point, horizontal, left, vertical and hook. And learn how to write, underline and collect pens. This method can give beginners room to expand. If you paint it red at the beginning, it will cause the bookholder to stick to the red post and it is not easy to put down the writing. Therefore, it is good for beginners to start copying. However, what kind of books should we start with? On this issue, there are still differences in the book circle. Some say it starts with official script, some say it starts with regular script, and some say it starts with cursive script or running script, but I think it starts with regular script. As for choosing Tang Kai or Weibei, the writer can decide according to his personal situation.
The third stage is that calligraphers think that their regular script foundation is relatively solid and they can enter the practice of running script. Generally speaking, the running script can be Wang Xizhi's Preface to Lanting and Preface to Saint Education, or Li Beihai's Monument to Li Sixun and the running scripts of Yan Zhenqing, Mi Fei and Huang Tingjian. But it should be noted that the one who started to learn regular script was the one who learned it. If you want to change it, it should be the same as the tablet you started learning. The gap should not be too big, otherwise, it will directly affect your progress.
In the fourth stage, the running script has been completed, and you can write seal script and official script. The elder said, "Learn official script first; When you are familiar with seal script, you can learn from it, but it has an ancient meaning. " You should learn Xiao Zhuan before you learn Da Zhuan, because Xiao Zhuan is horizontal and vertical, and the circle turns to your hand, and the structure is easy to learn and the pen is easy to guide. Today, someone said, "It is not only difficult to achieve, but also difficult to get started." Writing Xiao Zhuan can be written by Li Si, Li, Deng and other calligraphers, and then re-enter the stone drum. Official script should choose Han Li, such as Yiying and Shimen tablet.
