A Brief Introduction to Fu Shan's World

/kloc-The 0/7th century is a crucial period in the history of calligraphy in China, in which Fu Shan is the representative. Different from previous scholars who studied the history of calligraphy, Bai, the author of this book, did not discuss Fu Shan's calligraphy in isolation, but placed it in the cultural framework of the whole era, observing and interpreting Fu Shan's life, his academic thoughts and artistic creation from the perspective of the development history of Qu's academic thoughts, material culture and printing culture, and from the perspective of the adherents' complex that experienced the pain of replacement during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. While trying to re-sketch Fu Shan's life experience, the author not only provides a new perspective for this turning point in the history of China's calligraphy, but also provides a new perspective for China's cultural world in the17th century. This book is also a must-read for readers who are interested in all aspects of China society at the turn of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

As soon as the English-Chinese traditional Chinese version of this book came out, it attracted the keen attention of academic circles at home and abroad and was rated as "one of the best works of studying a single artist so far".

"Fu Shan's World" starts with Fu Shan and discusses the evolution of calligraphy in this period. So to be exact, this is not a book about Fu Shan; Fu Shan's calligraphy, the author just thought it was a picture of broken branches. What he wants to do is to follow the inclination of the broken branches and find the flowers outside the frame and the soil from which they come. This is a17th century calligraphy evolution history from the perspective of Fu Shan, or a17th century cultural history from the perspective of calligraphy. Fu Shan's World is a realistic name.
