Liu Kaiqu (sculptor, former vice chairman of China Artists Association, chairman of Shanghai Artists Association, curator of China Art Museum, vice president of Central Academy of Fine Arts): In my impression, Comrade Zhu Xuanxian was diligent, an active member of the progressive art team in Shanghai before liberation, and also an active member of the "Joint Office" team of the All-China Artists Association, the All-China Woodblock Artists Association and the All-China Cartoonist Association in the early days of liberation. I have been reading his works since the forties and fifties. Zhu Xuanxian has been writing for a long time, and the number is quite large. It is not easy to cover a wide range of Chinese and western paintings. The artistic features and academic value embodied in these works are valuable.

Wang Qi (painter, former party secretary and executive vice chairman of China Artists Association and chairman of China Printers Association): Comrade Zhu Xuanxian, I am very happy to write the title of your painting collection. Your works reflect some artistic features of our country from the 1940s to the present, full of true feelings and healthy aesthetic style, which is very valuable.

Hua (painter, former vice chairman of China Artists Association, consultant, and secretary of the Secretariat of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles): His cartoons are good at obtaining meaningful materials from international politics and people's lives, thus deepening the art, full of satire, vividness, profundity and interest, and the characteristics are in place.

Wang Chaowen (aesthetician, former vice-chairman of China Artists Association, vice-president of China Academy of Art and president of China Aesthetic Society): Creative thinking is the basic subjective condition for engaging in painting creation, art press and publication and art social activities. Yang Keyang (painter, consultant of China Printmakers Association, former vice chairman and consultant of Shanghai Artists Association, president of Shanghai Printmaking Society): Zhu Xuanxian's works are fruitful. Among them, "A Summer in the South of the Yangtze River-My Hometown" is Zhu Xuanxian's new work. The rural scenery in the south is beautiful, with a little realistic decoration and a taste of prints, especially in the bright green tone of the whole page, showing a few whites, making the picture feel comfortable and breathable. This kind of proper confession is also excellent in his works such as "Ronghu Didi Cui" and "Good Mountain Country". This effort is due to his successful application of his experience of cherishing ink as gold in the practice of Chinese painting creation of printmaking.

Pang Xunqin (painter, former First Vice President and Professor of Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts): Zhu Xuanxian's works have their own characteristics. For decades, besides undertaking heavy social art organization work and art press and publication work, he has unswervingly followed his own path in his creation, and the quality of his works is not sloppy at all, which is very rigorous.

Zhao Yannian (painter, consultant of China Printmakers' Association, professor of China Academy of Fine Arts): It is a characteristic of Zhu Xuanxian's tonal woodcut to express the content and artistic conception of different pictures with different tones, which I am very interested in.

Zhao Zongzao (Vice-Chairman of Zhejiang Artists Association, Vice-President and Professor of China Academy of Fine Arts): It's the first time that The Collection of Zhu Xuanxian Woodcut Prints has made me see so many works by Zhu Xuanxian in such a concentrated way. I like some small woodcuts he carved in his early days. After reading "I am engaged in woodcut print creation" written by himself and "Preface" written by Comrade Yang of Yang Ke, it is clear that he can persist in creative practice and make achievements under the condition of long-term competence in breaking news, publishing Art editor and art administrative institutions. This highly professional spirit is deeply admirable!

Reading his works can really arouse people's infinite love for life. For example, "The Harvest Scene" is really full of vitality, pouring the painter's deep affection for life; The sparrow in Storm is an original "Zhu Painting", which is accurate, exaggerated and shapeless, so vivid and lovely, it is really rare; In addition, Knowing Autumn is also a stroke of genius. Ducks are simple and vivid, and the whole picture layout is free and easy.

Wang Lin (art critic, curator, doctoral supervisor, Professor sichuan fine arts institute):

Zhu Xuanxian was one of the earliest people who participated in modern art in China.

Browsing Zhu Xuanxian's works reminds people of a problem: Although artists change with the times, truly excellent works of art often span time and space.

Looking at Zhu Xuanxian's Chinese paintings, few people compare the richness of themes; In Zhu Xuanxian's works, his sense of form and symbolic meaning are equally important, which proves his self-esteem and self-confidence. Zhu Xuanxian is an important participant in the early emerging woodcut prints in Shanghai. Through Zhu Xuanxian's art, we can get a glimpse of the track of historical advance and retreat.

Lin Mu (art historian, member of theoretical committee of China Artists Association, researcher of China National Painting Academy): More than half a century has passed, and Mr. Zhu Xuanxian's artistic creation has changed from a revolutionary fighter to a lyric poet, from throwing a gun and dagger to pure beauty. This is exactly in line with the development of China art in the 20th century. Studying Zhu Xuanxian's works from this angle may also be the time value of his works.
