Liu Erlang's Artistic Style

Liu Erlang was born in a scholarly family and loved poetry and painting since childhood. Influenced by his family, Liu Erlang has a solid foundation in Chinese studies. His calligraphy worships the ancient Jin and Tang Dynasties, and his brushwork is fluent and unique. After the Cultural Revolution, he devoted himself to the study of Chinese painting techniques. After studying under Li Keran, a famous contemporary Chinese painting master, he is good at painting flowers and landscapes, especially landscapes. His works are deeply studied by teachers, and his solid foundation makes his landscape paintings more realistic than those of Ming and Qing Dynasties, inheriting the essence of Li Keran's landscape paintings and gradually becoming a respected master in contemporary China painting circles. Or because he studied techniques hard since childhood, his brushwork is more sophisticated and concise than that of painters of the same period. Jiro's brushwork is unpretentious, with simple ink color and boring brushwork. Modern art critics call it "showing Li Keran's later artistic creation style".
