Ancient calligraphers and their works

The most famous calligrapher in China is Wang Xizhi, whose works include Preface to Lanting. Yan Zhenqing, whose works include "Sacrificing a Nephew"; Ou Yangxun, whose works include The Inscription of Liquan in Jiucheng Palace; Zhang Xu, whose works include four ancient poems; Mi Fei, whose works include "Horse Talent" and so on.

Yan Zhenqing is the most accomplished and influential calligrapher after Wang Xizhi. His work "Sacrifice to My Nephew" is a memorial to my nephew Yan Jiming by Yan Zhenqing in Tang Dynasty. Always in one go, regardless of works, it is often called "the second running book in the world".

As one of the four famous regular script writers in history, Ou Yangxun has his own unique views on calligraphy, including the "eight methods" of calligraphy. His work "Ming of the Ritual Spring in Jiucheng Palace" was praised by later generations as "the first regular script in the world" or "the first official script in the world".
