Cao Jianping, alias Suizhai, courtesy name Jian, was born in Tongxiang in the early 1970s. He studied under Mr. Huang Dun, Sheng Xinfu and Shen Bohong. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, deputy director of the Engraving Committee of the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, director of the Jiaxing Calligraphers Association, and secretary-general of the Tongxiang Calligraphers Association. Cao Jianping is fond of calligraphy and painting. He mostly uses ancient inscriptions as materials for his writing practice. His calligraphy works are made by Er Wang, Mi Fu and Wang Duo of the Cao Sect, which are simple and natural, rich in scrolls. Seal script has its true and direct meaning from the imperial edicts of Qin and Han Dynasties. Official script is immersed in the Qianjia calligraphers of the Qing Dynasty. There are changes in the sharpness, and there is flow in the solidity; the small regular script evolved from the Ming Dynasty to the Six Dynasties, and from the Six Dynasties to the Han and Wei Dynasties. It is smooth, gentle, broad and thoughtful.
