Calligraphy "two kings"

most

The "two kings" of calligraphy refer to Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, two calligraphers in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

Wang Xizhi, a man of few words, was born in Langxie (present-day Shandong) and later moved to Yin Shan (present-day Shaoxing, Zhejiang). Great calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. He served as Hui Ji's civil servant and led the general of the right army. He was called "Wang Youjun" and "Wang Huiji". Wang Xizhi began to learn calligraphy from Mrs. Wei (Wei Shuo), and later learned Zhang Zhi's cursive script and Zhong You's regular script. He learned from others and was honored as a "book saint" for his meticulous brushwork, integrity and lines. His running scripts include Preface to Lanting Collection, Sunny Snow Post and Cursive Script Post of the First Month, among which Huang Tingjing and Le Yi Lun are the most famous official books.

Wang Xianzhi, the word Amethyst, the son of Wang Xizhi, is known as the "big order" in the world. I studied calligraphy with my father when I was young. Later, I took Zhang Zhi's method and created my own style, just like my father. Wang Xianzhi is good at writing, calligraphy, cursive script and official script, especially cursive script. Duck's head pill post is the most famous running script, and the autumn post in cursive script is listed as one of the "three wedding invitations" in Qing Dynasty.

Wang and his son are not conservative in learning calligraphy, nor are they confined to one family. They are poor, but they are well connected. They created their own style on the basis of "combining the strengths of many schools and integrating the beauty of all schools", which occupies an important position in the history of calligraphy in China.

Story skills

Wang Xianzhi is the son of Wang Xizhi. He has been smart and studious since childhood. At the age of seven or eight, he began to learn calligraphy with his father.

On one occasion, Wang Xizhi saw Xian Zhi practicing calligraphy and intended to test him. Wang Xizhi crept up behind him and suddenly reached for the brush in his hand. He held the pen tightly and didn't get rid of it. Xizhi boasted happily, "This son should be famous in the future." After listening to this, I was flattered. Once, a friend asked Xizhi to write a few words on the fan. Xizhi splashed ink with his pen, and suddenly a drop of ink fell on the fan, looking unsightly; The little gift on the side had a brainwave, picked up a brush and drew a calf on this drop of ink. The fans suddenly became colorful, and everyone present applauded.

Gradually, dedication began to be proud. One day, I asked my mother, "I can reach my father's level in three years?" Mother shook her head. "Five years is enough?" Mother shook her head again. He said impatiently, "How long will it take?" Mother said word for word: "Finish writing the eighteen jars of water in the yard, and your words will be all bones, flesh and blood." After practicing for another five years, he showed his father what he was satisfied with, hoping to hear a few words of praise. One of them, Xihe, leafed through it, looking solemn. He didn't look satisfied until he saw a word "big". He casually added a dot under the word "big" and then returned the manuscript to the dedication. Dissatisfied with the dedication, he held the manuscript up to his mother and said, "How far do you think my father and I are?" Mother looked at it carefully for several days, and finally pointed to the point under the word "big" and sighed and said, "Only this one looks like your father." The sacrifice soon shriveled.

Seeing that his arrogance was gone, his mother encouraged him to say, "As long as you keep practicing, you will be like your father!" " "After listening to the dedication, I was very touched and practiced persistently. Everything comes to him who waits, and he used 18 jars of water to practice calligraphy. Finally, the written words reached the level of penetrating the back of the paper, and were called "two kings" alongside Wang Xizhi's words.

White goose's book

Wang Xizhi has a hobby and likes geese very much. No matter whose goose is good, you must go and have a look, because by observing the movement form of the goose, you can appreciate some essence of calligraphy. There was a Taoist priest in Yinshan who wanted Wang Xizhi to write a volume of Tao Te Ching for him, but he knew that Wang Xizhi wouldn't write scriptures for others easily. Later, he learned that Wang Xizhi liked geese and specially raised a number of excellent varieties of geese. Sure enough, Wang Xizhi heard that there were good geese in Taoism and really went to see them. I saw a flock of geese floating leisurely in the river. It was really cute. Wang Xizhi sent someone to find a Taoist priest and asked to sell him the goose. The Taoist priest smiled and said, "Since you like it so much, I'll give it to you. But there is a request, please write a volume of scriptures for me. " Wang Xizhi did not hesitate to copy a scroll of scriptures for the Taoist priest and took the goose home.
