After reading Wu Zetian's calligraphy, look at Cixi's calligraphy. Is it an achievement?

Of course, it's not the same level. Although there are few calligraphy left by Wu Zetian, The Monument to the Ascending Immortal Prince is one of the few representative works left by Wu Zetian. From here, we can see that Wu Zetian's calligraphy is neat, and the size of the words is quite similar, which is very beautiful. Looking at the calligraphy written by Cixi, later generations all commented that her handwriting was not imposing and crooked, which looked more like a child who had just learned to write, so the calligraphy of Wu Zetian and Cixi could not be of the same grade.

Wu Zetian is a controversial historical figure, because she is the only female emperor in history, but there is no denying that she is indeed a very talented person, praised by many historians, and her calligraphy is also excellent, especially calligraphy. As a female emperor, her handwriting is not much weaker than that of men, but it is very imposing. Although there are not many calligraphy works left, we can still see the neatness of her handwriting from the only works.

Cixi is Manchu, and her father used to be a local official. At that time, the court stipulated that all children of official families should learn martial arts, so Cixi also learned martial arts from an early age and later began to learn Chinese culture. When Cixi was young, like other ladies, she studied painting, writing, playing chess and dancing at home. Among these courses, Cixi likes painting and writing best.

Later generations commented on Cixi's handwriting, which was weak and scrawled, with different sizes. It can be said that it looks messy, more like the handwriting of a child who just started learning to write. Although these two women are both people in power in history, their writing styles are quite different.
