Introduction to the Book of Commandments;
The Book of Commandments is a letter from Zhuge Liang, a famous politician in the Three Kingdoms period, to his 8-year-old son Zhuge Zhan before his death, and it has become a masterpiece of self-cultivation for later generations. It can be regarded as Zhuge Liang's summary of his life. Zhuge Liang is also a noble and knowledgeable father, and his inculcation and infinite expectations for his son are all in his words. Through these words full of wisdom, rationality, conciseness and preciseness, the affection of fathers all over the world for their beloved son is expressed so deeply. There are many "admonitions" preserved by later generations.
The original text of the Ten Commandments:
Husband (f? ) a gentleman's trip is quiet to cultivate one's morality and frugal to cultivate one's morality. Not cold, not awake, not quiet, not far away. If you study quietly, you must study. If you don't study, you won't learn widely. If you have no ambition, you can't succeed. If you are slow, you can't grind essence, and if you are dangerous, you can't grind sex. Time keeps pace with the times, meaning keeps pace with the day, and then it becomes withered, which is not enough to satisfy the world, and it is sad to keep poor, and will (discipline? Ng) what's more!
Translation of the Ten Commandments;
People with high moral character and both ability and political integrity should cultivate themselves by quietness and frugality. If you don't look down on worldly fame and fortune, you can't make great plans, and if you don't calm down and think, you can't achieve lofty goals. Learning must be quiet, and knowledge needs to be learned. You can't broaden your knowledge if you don't study, and you can't succeed if you don't make up your mind to study. Indulge in slackness, can't make progress, be intolerant, violent and radical, and can't temper. Age flies with time, ambition fades with age, and finally energy is exhausted and knowledge is useless. Most of them are not used by society because they can't inherit the ambitions of their predecessors, and they are sadly guarding their poor homes. There was no time to study at that time!
