The statue of the Western Wei Dynasty (Three Links) in Zhongxing Temple was carved in the fifth year of Datong (AD 537). The monument is1.82m high and 0.82m wide. The statue was carved in the niche of Ghost Hand, in which a Buddha, two disciples, two bodhisattvas and four birds were deeply embossed. The Buddha of Sakyamuni sat on the square seat in the middle, showing his right chest and praising him. A disciple stood on both sides of the Buddha's back in a double-collared cassock, with his feet on the skirt in front of the Buddha, wearing a Hua Teng crown, a silk sash hanging from his shoulder, a collar around his neck and a pendant hanging on his chest. He wore a long skirt hanging down, holding Buddha dust and lotus respectively, above the Buddha's back. The Buddha pavilion is rigorous, skillful in knife cutting, dense lines, exquisite carving skills, lifelike carved figures and even Buddha statues. The flying sky is full of strong skirts and flying patterns, which is very dynamic and retains the artistic style of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The next inscription describes the life story of Baishi (a word twin cities), the founder of Gucheng County, Daduzhi County, Taishou Town, Hebei Province, involving the Taishou of Wan, Yang Shun and Xinye counties, the county magistrate secretariat, Biejia, a captain, a general and Cheng Wei. The other two pieces in the temple are statues and inscriptions of Cao Zhi's masterpieces, which were handed over to Nanyang Cultural Museum for preservation after liberation. It provides valuable material data for studying the administrative, military, organizational and jurisdictional scope of the Western Wei Dynasty. Most place names and official positions can't be found in (Shu Wei) and (Northern History). It can supplement the deficiency of historical materials and has high historical value.
The inscription has a rigorous structure, strong brushwork, graceful and elegant brushwork, horizontal characters, Fang Bi curve and a sense of picking waves. It became a model of calligraphy in later generations, which was called "Wei stele style" in history. For thousands of years, literati have come to copy, or enjoy, or give gifts to friends, or study books, or collect treasures, leaving eternal stories and witty sentences in the temple. 195 1 The title of the Central People's Government is: "Protecting the cultural relics and treasures of Zhongxing Temple (Statue Monument)". 1956, 1963 and 1982 were declared as "key cultural relics protection units in Henan province" respectively.
