Is the brushwork thin or thick?

Each has its own style.

1. Dense and sparse. In other words, there are many strokes in the word, so it should be written in detail, otherwise it will appear crowded; If Chinese characters have few strokes, they should be written thick and thin, and the words will be loose. Let's take regular script as an example to see the relationship between the following characters with more strokes and fewer strokes.

2. Long, thin and short. That is to say, long strokes should be written carefully and short strokes should be written thick, so as to achieve the balance and harmony of the whole vision.

3. Horizontal fine vertical thick. That is to say, horizontal painting is slightly thinner than vertical painting, and vertical painting is slightly thicker. If explained by architectural principles, the vertical is equivalent to a column, and the thick column will make the whole house more stable, and the horizontal is equivalent to a beam.

4. The left side is thin and the right side is thick. This rule is generally obvious when there is a vertical picture on the left and a horizontal fold on the right, which is common in national boxes and door boxes. In order to highlight the horizontal fold on the right side, the vertical painting on the right side is generally slightly thicker, which is the so-called left thin and right thick.

Brush writing refers to words written according to traditional statutes, rather than words written casually with a brush. Calligraphy is a line modeling art, and the so-called brush strokes mainly talk about how to shape ideal lines.
