When I came to Wang Xizhi's former residence, I was greeted by a plaque inscribed by Mr. Qi Gong, a master calligrapher in China, above the gatehouse. The gatehouse of Wang Xizhi's former residence is magnificent with cornices and arches. Being there makes people feel solemn.
Wang Xizhi's former residence is located in Linyi City, covering an area of 5 1 mu. There are scenic spots such as Xiyan Lake, Yintai and Langya Academy in the former residence. The newly-built Jinmozhai and celebrity calligraphy Monument Gallery can enjoy the handwriting, inscriptions and works of different styles of famous contemporary calligraphers, which are excellent places for China's calligraphy root-seeking tour.
After entering the south gate, I saw a tall stone tablet engraved with 324 words of Preface to Lanting and Preface to Lanting, each of which was created by Wang Xizhi as an image of life. It is said that Wang Xizhi drank a lot of wine on the day when he got together with relatives and friends in Lanting, Shaoxing, and wrote the preface to Lanting, the world's first running book, through drunkenness. In particular, there are more than twenty characters of "ambition", none of which are the same, and each has its own unique charm. Emperor Taizong praised it as "a little work, a must."
I came to a pool as black as ink with great interest. This is the "West inkstone Lake" where Wang Xizhi practiced calligraphy and washed brush and inkstone. Xiyan Lake is now smaller than it used to be, only one tenth as big as it was then. Legend has it that every time Wang Xizhi finished practicing calligraphy when he was a child, he would go to the pond next to his home to wash the inkstone. Over time, the original clear and transparent pool water was also dyed black by ink, leaving a beautiful talk of "the pool water is full of ink". Later, people called this pool "Xiyan Lake".
Along the westbound bamboo forest, across the "Rose Garden" is the China Contemporary Calligraphy Monument Gallery, which displays more than 80 calligraphy stone carvings of famous contemporary calligraphers in China. These calligraphies are not only excellent works in calligraphy, but also express the admiration of future generations for the book saints.
Further on, there is a book drying platform 2 meters from the ground, which is said to be the place where Wang Xizhi studied calligraphy and dried books. On the stage, a stone tablet stands tall, engraved with the three characters of "Dashutai" inscribed by Mr. Zhao Puchu, former chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association. To the north of Daishu is the famous Langya Academy in Qilu, which is five antique buildings, covering an area of 200 square meters and rebuilt by modern people. The inscription of "Langya Academy" was collected from Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Holy Teaching. Entering the academy, you can see Wang Xizhi's calligraphy works, such as Langya Post, Preface to Lanting, Seventeen Posts and so on.
