Divide the half moon on the ridge equally. There is a mountain on the pillow.
The white house is poor and white, which will be a temporary measure and the sunset will return.
Lotus Buddha country is located in a deep place, and it is unattainable to be born.
-Master Sheng 'an's Poem of Persuading Pure Land
"Chu Shi fled to a distant city", and this "place" means retirement. Chu Shi is a talented person who is not an official.
Hermits have the pursuit of ideals, especially independence and personality freedom, so they can see through the fame and fortune in the world.
This is "escape from fame and fortune", escape from fame and fortune, and stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. So where do you retire? Went to live in the mountains. This body is secluded.
"Quiet room" means that you retreat to a green and clean mountain forest, where you can simply build a thatched cottage to live.
Spiritually, it is very poetic.
The half moon on the ridge is divided equally. There is a hut on the hill. Half a moon shines on the bed, and behind it is a mountain forest. Every day, the breeze is bright and the moon is bright, and it costs nothing. How reassuring!
Compared with the noise of the city, living in the mountains really has a good artistic conception. There is no sound in the world, only the sound of birds and wind and rain in nature, and the quality of sleep is very good, so you don't need to take sleeping pills. After living in the mountains for more than twenty days, I immediately felt fat.
But living in the mountains is not an easy thing. We must reduce the material standard of living to a minimum.
There are not so many facilities to enjoy in the mountains, and even food is difficult to transport in. Moreover, many mountainous areas have difficulty in using water and are very frugal. Some places are remote, there is no water at all, and it depends on nature. Receive rain in summer and drink snow water in winter.
Therefore, a person who has never suffered may not be able to live in a hut. Not only will there be no entertainment, but he may not see anyone for a long time.
But people with spiritual pursuits will feel that this situation is very good. This is "White House Poverty Alleviation"!
A "white house" refers to a house whose roof is covered with white grass (that is, a thatched cottage). Material life must be very poor, just as Confucius said Yan Hui, "If you live in a mean alley, you can't bear to worry, and you won't get happiness when you go back. Xian zai hui ye! 」
Yan Hui ate a simple meal, drank a ladle of water and lived in a very shabby alley. Ordinary people can't stand such poverty, but Yan Hui enjoyed himself in that situation because he got inner peace and happiness.
Confucius said that Yan Hui did not oppose benevolence in March, and he could blend with the realm of benevolence for a long time.
"self-denial, self-denial, the world is benevolent", he has been highly enjoyed in the spiritual realm.
Since ancient times, there have been hermits in various dynasties. But different dynasties have different social values to hermits. During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, seclusion became a social fashion and was highly respected.
For example, Lushan Mountain is a famous mountain with hermit culture. Formerly called Kuang Lu, it has a lot to do with hermit cultivation.
During the reign of King Zhou Wei, a hermit named Kuang Xuma practiced near Tiger Creek. When King Zhou Wei heard of his fame, he wanted to invite him to the imperial court to support him.
The day before the messenger arrived, Kuang Xu ascended to heaven, leaving only the thatched cottage where he practiced. This mountain has been called Lushan Mountain or Kuanglu since then.
There are thousands of hermits on this mountain, including Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. You know, recluse culture contributes a lot to the whole China culture, and the construction of a culture needs a quiet environment and a clean mind.
Lushan Mountain is very popular with literati, including Bailudong Academy (said to be the earliest academy in China). Reading in the mountains will make you understand more thoroughly. In the Tang Dynasty, Wang Zhenbai left an eternal famous saying here: "Reading is not deep in spring, and an inch of time is an inch of gold."
In fact, whether you are engaged in academics, music, painting, calligraphy, alchemy, qigong and martial arts, you need to do it in the mountains, not in downtown areas.
Look at the eighteen dignitaries of Torringi. Except for Master Bhikkhu, lay people were all famous hermits of that era.
For example, those who wrote "Journey to the West" came from a famous family and were descendants of the king of the Han Dynasty. He served as a county magistrate in Chaisang (now Jiujiang), and later quit his job to become a monk with Master Hui Yuan.
Lei Cizong, a native of Nanchang, is knowledgeable and proficient in the culture of "ceremony". The imperial court will send him to give lessons to princes and princes, which shows that he has extraordinary knowledge.
There are stone carvings of these 18 celebrities in our ancestral hall. Zong Bing looks like he is holding an clavichord. It is said that when he plays the piano, all the trees and flowers in the mountain dance with the sound of the piano.
Zong Bing is also the originator of landscape painting. His footprints are all over the famous mountains and rivers of the motherland. In his later years, when he couldn't walk, he took out the landscape paintings in his memory and enjoyed them in his room, just like visiting famous mountains and rivers. This is his creativity, so later generations regard him as the originator of landscape painting.
And Zhang quan. In the statue, he hoes the ground with a hoe in one hand to meet material needs. Holding the scroll in the other hand is to solve spiritual and intellectual needs. With a hoe in one hand and a scroll in the other, it represents the life style of a hermit.
Hermit's aim is to read classics, perfect spiritual pursuit and ultimate concern for life. Farming is just a way of life. This is the difference between a hermit and a mountaineer.
Mountain people's understanding of life only stays at the level of living in the world, and they are grateful for being able to support their families, carry on the family line and spend this life safely. And those who support their bodies bit by bit are the ones who want to read the scriptures, which is different. They are called hermits.
So these eighteen celebrities and Tao Yuanming (the originator of China's pastoral poems) were actually hermits of that era.
The famous Zen master of the Five Dynasties wrote a poem for the 18th High Immortal Shadow Hall in Tolin Temple (that is, the hall dedicated to their portraits). The first four sentences are as follows:
The old cinema near Bailianchi is decorated with the role of Liu Lei.
* * * Emperor Guang's ministers are expensive, but he loves your teacher for a long time.
Bailianchi is now Bailianchi. There is a cinema near Bailianchi, which is for the statue of eighteen immortals. There are two important people here-Liu Yimin and Lei Cizong. Their personality, that is a phoenix in Yi Long, is very noble.
Where is this nobleness reflected? * * * despise the emperor and his ministers.
The court wants to recruit them to be senior officials, but they don't go. Tao Yuanming is not bent over five buckets of rice. He would rather go back to his hometown to farm, pick chrysanthemums under the hedge and see Nanshan leisurely. They are a group of people who pursue freedom and independent personality.
They * * * light emperor governors expensive to do? "Only love Jun, love the teacher as a teacher." That is, they love the practice of Buddhism advocated by Master Hui Yuan, and they want to solve the problem of reincarnation and go to the pure land!
Take the hermit in Lindong as an example, and then look at other hermits since ancient times. Although the White House is poor and seems to have found a spiritual pillar, it still treats the symptoms rather than the root cause.
They just seem to live in poverty, enjoy themselves and don't want to get rich, but the fundamental problem in life, that is, how to get rid of life and death, has never been involved, that is, "I don't know if I will come back after sunset!"
The sunset represents that we will eventually grow old and die, but the question of where to go after death is beyond the reach of ordinary hermits. As a hermit with spiritual pursuit, we must ask a serious life question: in endless reincarnation, where will we go after the end of this life?
The master of the provincial nunnery pointed out a bright road for these hermits: "Lotus Buddha country is deep"!
Your seclusion in the verdant mountains is only a temporary sustenance. You know, the ultimate place to live is in the pure land lotus of Amitabha!
This deep place is not at the level of false heart, but at the interface of pure heart. The pure land of the self-nature Amitabha is not the realm within the Three Realms, but Le Bang beyond the Three Realms!
How can you walk on this bright road? Three words are used in the poem: "unattainable! 」
Out of the world, you can't climb the lotus Buddha country.
Climbing the heart means that our heart is going to the outside world now, that is, the world where our heart lives in the mountains is still outside. You are in the beautiful mountains, in a clean environment, in the slightly elegant things you are doing at the moment, playing the piano, writing, painting or writing. These are all your ambitions.
The Shurangama Sutra talks about finding the heart in seven points, and the Buddha asks where Ananda's heart is. Ananda said that the heart lies in seven places: inside and outside. In fact, the seven places he climbs now are all unattainable, and it is also unattainable to find a heart.
From the perspective of epistemology, the word "climbing" refers to a heart that can climb, a heart with eight senses, and eight senses are different; This "fate" refers to a realm-the realm of fate is separation. People with eight senses are vain, which is called climbing the heart.
If you want to be a * * *, you can't have this delusion. Self-emptiness means that falsehood is true and all falsehood is true. Speaking of the wonderful truth, it is to return to the original nature-local scenery.
Here tells us that Elysium is not a climbing realm, but a wonderful and sincere realm.
How can this natural trace get by? It is difficult for us to prove such a wonderful truth, so the place where the Pure Land Law begins is to talk about the word "faith"!
For the convenience of "believing", first believe in "two things", the pure land of bliss and Amitabha, and then make a wish and be willing to go!
Why are you going? Because reincarnation is bitter, it is difficult to practice in this world. In this life, we must devote ourselves to the west, with the destruction of the western paradise as the only goal!
Then how to get there? This is to establish a profound belief and a sincere desire, that is, to honestly recite the name of Amitabha Namo. As long as you meet the three conditions of faith, wish and fame, you will be out of business. The rest are Amitabha, who will take you to the western paradise and a lotus terrace at the end of your life.
This whole belief, desire and behavior is not the product of vain heart. If you think with false heart, the more you think, the more you think. The more I think about it, the more I think about it. Is it illusory and deceptive?
There will be a lot of doubts in the false heart. In fact, there is "doubt" in the troubles of hypocrisy. "Doubt" is one of the six fundamental worries (greed, ignorance, slowness, doubt and incorrect views).
Therefore, true and pure self-confidence comes from reality, and it must also have a good root of more life and more robbery.
These hermits pursue spiritual freedom and independence, but whether it is study, art or longevity (health preservation), they are not real, but only temporary interests. Amitabha's paradise is the ultimate destination of hermits.
Hermits must return to paradise. Only when hermits believe in their names and live in the Lotus Buddha Country can their secluded life get a happy ending!
