Brief Introduction of School of Arts and Media, Xi University of Technology

School of Art and Media of Xi University of Technology was established in 2002. At present, there are five undergraduate majors in visual communication design, environmental design, product design, animation and calligraphy, and there are 1 master of arts degree points, among which calligraphy law is the first undergraduate major in northwest China, and it has now become an innovative experimental area for the cultivation of calligraphy undergraduate talents in Shaanxi Province.

The college now has a first-class multimedia classroom, professional photography studio, Apple computer design studio, art design center, model making studio, screen printing studio, animation design studio, painting and calligraphy copying studio, computer design studio and art exhibition center, which not only undertakes professional teaching tasks, but also becomes the base for Xi Tech University to carry out artistic quality education for college students.

2. The discipline of characteristic construction is the calligraphy direction of art and the aesthetics direction of weapons.

(1) Calligraphy direction: In recent years, rich teaching achievements have been made in teaching research and practice. He has successively won the Lanting Calligraphy Education Award in China, the Excellent Tutor Award of the Ministry of Education and the Shaanxi Teaching Master Award; Shaanxi Calligraphy Professional Training Mode Innovation Experimental Zone, Shaanxi Calligraphy Creation Base, Shaanxi Calligraphy Teaching Team and Shaanxi Art Education Experimental Demonstration Center have been built.

(2) The direction of weapon aesthetics: Relying on the advantages of the school's overall ordnance technology and ordnance research projects, the product design specialty and animation specialty of our institute have successively undertaken many tasks such as the appearance design and animation design of military equipment products such as the General Armament Department, the General Logistics Department, the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau and the North Group. On the basis of long-term practice, in order to meet the new demand of national defense industry for innovative talents, a brand-new concept of "weapon aesthetics" is put forward.
