Brief introduction of Wang ya

Former Chairman of Calligraphers Association. Wang Ya, formerly known as Wang Hongliang and pen name Hong Ping, was born in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, 1928. Associate researcher, member of China Calligraphers Association, the first and second directors of Zhejiang Branch of China Calligraphers Association, the first and second honorary chairmen of Zhoushan Calligraphers Association, the honorary director of Zhejiang Calligraphy Research Association, the director of the Art Committee of China Calligraphy Art Research Institute, the art committee member of China Art Research Institute, and the creative researcher of China Senior Calligraphy Research Association. Member of China Talent Research Center of Ministry of Personnel, member of International Artists Federation, member of Zhejiang Branch of China Artists Association, friend of Zhejiang Provincial Political Consultative Conference, director of Peking University Oriental Painters Association. He used to be a member of the Standing Committee of Zhoushan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, deputy director of Dinghai Cultural Center, vice chairman of Dinghai CPPCC, member of Zhoushan CPPCC, deputy director of the Literature and History Committee, and member of Zhejiang CPPCC. His works and biographies have been compiled into China Dictionary of Modern Calligraphy Names, Achievements of Contemporary China Calligraphy Art, List of Members of China Calligraphers Association and Who's Who of China Contemporary Art, etc.
