Meaning: Ever since Zhao Gou, Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty, people have been ashamed of having the character "槧" in their names. When I (Master Qin) went to Yue Fei's tomb, I felt extremely guilty for having the surname "Qin".
This sentence was said by Master Qin. The great scholar of Qin is a descendant of Qin Hui, who was the number one scholar in the seventeenth year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty. Poetry, calligraphy and painting are three unique qualities. He was appointed as Imperial Minister (Professor of the Central Party School).
Suddenly one day Qianlong had a whim and asked Master Qin Doutou, are you a descendant of Qin Hui? The unprepared Master Qin was shocked by the question and broke into a cold sweat. Fortunately, the No. 1 Scholarship was not given for free, and he immediately revealed his tricks, "one emperor and one courtier". No matter how future generations interpret this sentence, Master Qin finally survived the disaster. Qianlong laughed and laughed it off.
Qianlong laughed it off, but how could Master Qin let it go? In the dynasty of the family world, the king ordered the ministers to die and the ministers had to die. Maybe one day Long live the Lord will be unhappy, and the head on his neck will no longer be named Qin!
So, I took advantage of the Qingming Festival to go back to my hometown in Jiangning (Nanjing) to visit the graves. I took another trip to Hangzhou. After visiting his teacher Yuan Mei and several other close friends, Yuan Mei gave him an idea. So a few of them came to Yue Fei's tomb and wrote the famous and popular sentence in full view of the public.

Life introduction
Qin Dashu’s ancestral home is Dangtu, Anhui. In the late Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, Qin Yinghu, the great-grandfather of Qin Dynasty, came to Nanjing from Dangtu to escape the chaos and lived in an alley in Jubaomen (today's Zhonghuamen). His father Qin Youlun gave birth to seven sons, and Master Qin ranked second. He was smart and studious since he was a child, and could write poems and compositions at the age of 10. He became famous for his calligraphy when he was a teenager, and the money he earned from refining his pens was enough to support his family.
At the age of 23, he passed the Jiangnan Gongyuan Examination. At the age of 38, he went to Beijing to take the exam. In the 60th birthday of the Empress Dowager, he became the 43rd number one scholar in the world since the founding of the Qing Dynasty. Traditionally, the alley where Master Qin was born was named Qin Zhuangyuan Alley by the local official.
After becoming the top scholar in high school, Master Qin was assigned to the Hanlin Academy as a compiler and responsible for compiling the history of the country. Emperor Qianlong appreciated the talent and integrity of Master Qin and asked him to serve as an examiner for the imperial examination. Ma Quan, the military champion who was promoted by him, later became a general in the northwest frontier and died heroically in the suppression of the rebellion. He served as the official school of Xian'an Palace and the president of Jingshan Official School, cultivating countless talents.
Emperor Qianlong promoted him to a bachelor's degree in the Hanlin Academy and taught his disciples to study. According to the "Unofficial History of the Qing Dynasty", Emperor Qianlong had doubts about his life experience. Asked him: "Are you really a descendant of Qin Hui?" He replied: "One emperor and one court official." The result of the investigation: Master Qin is a descendant of Qin Zi, an upright official of the Song Dynasty. Perhaps because of this family background, the Qin family reached its peak in the Qianlong, Jiaqing, and Daoguang dynasties, and its descendants were not all important officials in the dynasty.
Master Qin was an upright person and only served as an official for more than ten years. In the 28th year of Qianlong's reign, he retired and returned to Jinling. The eldest son Qin Chengen, who was the governor of Shaanxi at the time, bought He Ruchong's mansion to support his father. He Ruchong was the prime minister during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, and the street in front of the door was called Dafu Di. After the Qin Dynasty retired and moved to the doctorate, he planted four trees, cypress, catalpa, tung and eucalyptus, in the garden, which means "a hundred sons live together". The garden was named Zhanyuan, and the fragrance of books has been passed down from generation to generation. There is still a magnolia tree in the garden. Every summer, its flowers are as white as snow. It is extremely beautiful. It was also planted by Tua Shi back then.
After Master Qin passed the imperial examination, he was appointed to the Hanlin Academy as a editor. In the second year, he served as the same examiner in the Shuntian Township Examination. In the following year, he came first in the imperial examination, and then served as the president of Xian'an Palace, the president of the official school, and entered the Wuying Palace. After his mother died, Dingyou returned home. In the 22nd year of Qianlong's reign, he returned to his official position in Fuque. Master Qin taught the common people and went to the study room to serve the prince and give lectures.
In the 23rd year of Qianlong's reign, in the Great Examination of Hanzhan, he was awarded the first and second place in the imperial examination of Qin Dynasty, and was promoted to the bachelor's degree of the Hanlin Academy. In the twenty-fourth year of Qianlong's reign, he served as the deputy examiner of the Shuntian Wu Township Examination. Master Qin was ordered to offer sacrifices to Beiyue and other places. In the twenty-fifth year of Qianlong's reign, he served as co-examiner of the National Examination. In the twenty-seventh year of Qianlong's reign, Master Qin served as the chief examiner of the Fujian Provincial Examination. In the twenty-eighth year of Qianlong's reign, he was appointed as co-examiner of the joint examination. So he took a long vacation to support his old father, and then extended the vacation on the pretense of illness, but in fact he had no intention of coming back.
In the thirty-fifth year of Qianlong's reign, the Qin Dynasty came to Beijing to celebrate Emperor Qianlong's birthday. The following year, he congratulated the Empress Dowager on her 80th birthday. Seeing that his spirit was not declining, his colleagues in the court persuaded him to come back as an official, but he politely declined and did not come back.
During his free time at home, Master Qin once presided over the affairs of Longcheng Academy. In his later years, he only loved Lu Kun's "Moaning Language".
Master Qin served as an examiner successively, read all the papers, performed his duties conscientiously, and obtained many talents. He conscientiously performed his duties, and Master Qin was always meticulous in persuading the prince to study. He has been engaged in cultivating and selecting talents for a long time and is very effective.
Lu Wenxu, a bachelor at the Hanlin Academy, had a Han rubbing of Zhang Qian's Stele. The Qin Dynasty scholar saw it and fell in love with it, and asked Lu Wenxu to transfer it to him. Lu Wenchuo refused. One day while Lu Wenchu ??was out, Master Qin slipped into his study and took away the rubbings of the inscription. After Lu Wenchuo found out about it, he chased to Master Qin's home and took back the rubbings. Less than half a month later, Master Qin died of a sudden illness.
Lu Wenchuo went to pay homage to the deceased, took out the rubbing from his sleeve, and cried: "I had known that I would never see you again, why should I have been so stingy at that time! I am very worried about this, and I specially came to the soul today. Compensate for my mistakes." So the rubbings were burned to send to the soul of Master Qin.
Master Qin is good at poetry, calligraphy and painting. The poetry has an elegant ode style and the charm of fu, and the writing benefits from Su Laoquan. He once recited poems and composed the "Happy Rain Poems", which was presented and praised by Emperor Qianlong. Master Qin once lectured at Longcheng Academy and Zhiyang Academy. His calligraphy is exquisite in seal, official, running and cursive. He is also famous for painting, and is especially good at painting bamboo. According to legend, during the Qianlong period, Qin Jianquan, the number one scholar (that is, Qin Dashu, Jianquan is his nickname), was the favorite disciple of the famous poet Yuan Mei. One day, Qin Jianquan visited the tomb of King Yue with his former poetry friend. In front of the tomb of King Yue, there is an iron statue of Qin Hui and his wife kneeling, and on both sides there is a couplet written in the tone of Qin Hui and his wife complaining about each other.
The couplet is: "Ahem! I am heartbroken, how can I have a good wife? Sigh! Although a woman has a long tongue, she is not an old thief." Poetry friends laughed after reading it, joking about the new number one scholar. His surname was Qin, his descendant, and he was asked to inscribe a couplet to record his trip. Qin Jianquan smiled bitterly and wrote immediately. The couplet is: "People since the Song Dynasty have been ashamed to be named Hui, and I am ashamed to be named Qin when I go to the grave."
Being worthy of being the number one scholar in a new subject, he is really good at wording. There is also such a legend, which goes like this: "When the great scholar Qin Dianzhu was in court, one day the emperor asked him: 'Is your family the descendant of Qin Hui?' Qin (the great scholar) had no other words, but to He said: 'One emperor and one minister.'" This is also a clever answer.
Qin Dasheng had contacts with many celebrities in Jinling. The famous writer Yuan Mei went to Nanjing to serve as the magistrate of Jiangning County. He saw a poem inscribed on the stone wall of Yanziji: "Fishing fires are just like stars pouring out, and the bells are ringing to make the water fight for the flow." After learning that it was written by Master Qin, the two began to Become a close friend. We once took a tour of the Qinhuai River together, admiring the scenery on both sides of the river, seeing the golden powder of the Six Dynasties, and the prosperity of the water and moon.
Master Qin was moved by the scenery and sang a poem from Qijue: "The golden powder is floating in the air, and the weeds are new, and the girls are sleeping in the cold water day by day. Don't be sad about the past. The Huai River is now named Qin." The last sentence, He won the applause of Yuan Dynasty's great talents and became very popular for a while. It is this last sentence that has even more profound meaning to Master Qin.
Qin Dashu’s calligraphy and painting became famous for a while. Bao Shichen of the Qing Dynasty commented in "Yi Zhou Shuang Ji" that Master Qin was "the best in running script." In addition, his flower paintings are also outstanding.
He is the author of "Penglai Mountain Woodcutter Collection", "Moyunlou Collection" and "Qin Peiquan Manuscript".
