The ancient town of Tang Xi covers an area of 1 km2. Nine rivers crisscross the ancient town area, dividing the ancient town into eight blocks, among which 27 ancient bridges connect the towns. Typical Jiangnan towns, white walls and ink roofs, small bridges and flowing people, and unique Jiangnan water towns are the three characteristics of Xitang. Deep alleys and kilometers of verandahs have created the wonder of "leaving people in rainy days without getting wet".
Tang Xi Ancient Town Tourism: Scenery.
Balcony 1
The balcony is actually a street with a roof. The most famous is the veranda in Xitang. Some of the verandahs in Xitang are by the river and some are in the middle. Some verandahs by the river have long orange backs for people to rest. There are "one falling into the water" and "two falling into the water" on the top of the veranda, and some of them cross the street to form the veranda roof. Although they are different, they can protect businesses and pedestrians from the sun and rain. The veranda in the ancient town is 877 meters long. Made of wooden frame and felt roof. The veranda is made of brick and wood, with the most prominent section in the middle and two layers of carved patterns on the veranda. When the weather is fine, you can do this; In rainy days, it can provide shelter for tourists. The veranda by the river is the most distinctive. When it rains, walking under the misty corridor will have a nostalgic feeling.
2. Xiyuan
The former site of Xiyuan is located in Jijiaxiang, West Street. In the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Zeng operated alone and then sold it. There are trees, flowers, rockeries, pavilions and ponds in the park with beautiful scenery. There is a "Tingtaoxuan" teahouse on the rockery on the east side, so it is named because there is 1 Pinus bungeana on the rockery, which is several feet high and the wind comes and goes. /kloc-in the winter of 0/920, the poet Liu Yazi came to Xitang. I once lived in Xiyuan and took a group photo with my friends in Xitangnan. His topic is "the second picture of the collection of Xiyuan Ya". 1in March, 990, in memory of Liu Yazi's visit to Xiyuan, a park with a total area of 16.6 mu was built in the west hill of the town, named Xiyuan. At the entrance of the park, there are small bridges and flowing water, Shishi Pavilion, and there are brick galleries, waterside pavilions, curved bridges, rockeries, pavilions and artificial waterfalls around the park.
3. Pixar
Shipinong is an alley formed between the Wangs and their families, and the ground is paved with 168 slate. The total length is 68 meters, and the narrowest part is only 0.8 meters. In the ancient town, there were four surnames of Tang, Wang, Zhao and Lu before the Ming Dynasty, and there were many families such as Ni, Jiang, Zhu, Bu and Lu after the Ming Dynasty, so there were many deep houses and courtyards. Up to now, there are 122 alleys with different lengths in the town, of which 5 are deeper than 100 meter, and the most distinctive one is called Shipilong. The stepped gables on the left and right sides of Shipilong are 6- 10 meters high, which completely retains the ancient and unique charm.
4. Send your son to Phoenix Bridge.
Laifeng Bridge, located on the east side of Xiaotong Street, was built in 1637 (the tenth year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty) and is a three-hole stone slab bridge. Legend has it that a bird flew in when the bridge was built. The bridge builder thought it was auspicious and named it "Songzi Laifeng Bridge". Laifeng Bridge, rebuilt in 1998, has a unique shape and structure, which is suitable for sightseeing and is one of the new attractions. The width of this bridge is10m, and there is a flower wall in the middle, so pedestrians can go their separate ways. It is said that every newlywed couple who walks across the bridge, male left and female right, can be blessed. In addition, this bridge is also called "Drip Bridge" and "Lovers Bridge". The former can remind people of rainy days, so it is better to sit here and have a drink. At the same time, "Songzi Fengqiao" can best reflect the meticulous nature of Xitang people, because the stone steps on the bridge are divided into two, and the stone steps on the left are for men; The right side was designed as a small slope because the ancients considered that women had a bad habit of pricking their feet at that time, and the steps were small and it was inconvenient to walk, so they made a small slope for women.
5. Ginkgo biloba in Lu Fen
There are two ginkgo trees, a man and a woman, in Fenbang, Posts and Telecommunications Road, Tangxi Town. It has been planted for more than 600 years since the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. Ginkgo biloba is old and swaying, with lush foliage. The height of male ginkgo biloba is 13.5m, and the circumference is 3.92m The height of female ginkgo biloba is 9.35m, and the circumference is 3.08m.. The tomb owner Bong Luk, a native of Xitang, was a capital, incorruptible and knowledgeable, and a teacher of Zhao Wenhua, an imperial envoy of the Ming Dynasty. Legend has it that Bong Luk's residence was built with extra bricks when Zhao Wenhua was supervising the construction of Jiashan City Wall. The site is Yujialong under the south shed of Xitang. Now there are no traces of the ancient tomb, only the stone man, stone horse and these two old ginkgo trees around the tomb are still standing here to confirm this history.
Step 6 plant a prayer hall
Zhongfutang is the private residence of the king of Qing Dynasty. Wang Qi originated in the Song Dynasty and was in charge of the capital. After Wang Yuan escorted Song Gaozong and Zhao Gou to the south, he was changed by Ming Dynasty, and his descendants disappeared in Hangjiahu area. During Shunkang period of Qing Dynasty, one of the descendants moved to Xitang to build this mansion, which is a typical residential style in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The third entrance is the main hall. In the center of the hall, there is a plaque inscribed by Chen Hai Ning Bangyan, a scholar of Hanlin in Kangxi period, to warn future generations that "doing more good deeds on weekdays will surely make future generations blessed".
7. Drunk Garden
Founded in the Ming Dynasty, the quadrangle is now well preserved. Zuiyuan has three courtyards, covering an area of more than 200 square meters. This is an old house garden. The cloisters in the hall, with bluestone and green bamboo, are intoxicating. What impressed me most was the small brick bridge in the yard, which was exquisite, ornamental and practical. Wang's poetry and calligraphy have been handed down from generation to generation, his grandfather is good at calligraphy, and his father and son are obsessed with printmaking. The library in the park, Yixiangzhai, has a series of prints of Wang's "Water Town Charm".

Feel the gallery shed, the unique architecture of Jiangnan water town. Walking along the river under the rain porch in the drizzle, listening to the sound of rain beating on the river surface, breeds a touch of sadness. Then go to Shipilong, the longest and narrowest alley in the ancient town, and step on the green slate to make clear footsteps, as if going back to the time when the courtyard was deeply locked in the spring and autumn, and maybe meeting a lilac girl.
